My site is not ranked yet, why??

Hi guys,

I'm new on IM, I finished my first site on 18 feb 2010 and did some bookmarks for the posts and after that I made around 100 backlinks on PR5+.

The site is optimized for a keyword not so competitive (around 40.000).

I'm pinging since 24 feb 2010 the backlinks (7 or 8 per day).
When I did the backlinks I added on the profile two links (one for my main keyword and other for another keyword, both pointed to my main domain).

Until now, I'm not ranked well... for my main keyword I have the 147 position (not my main domain, just a post of my site)

What happened to my site?

Other interesting thing, on yahoo and bing my site appear on 18# and 9# (my main keyword).

Wow, a newbie who isn't a lazy moron. I almost want to hit the thanks button.

Unfortunately, Google isn't an exact science. If it was, this forum wouldn't exist and would instead be more like an article directory.

One thing that would help though would be to link to multiple posts, rather than just one or two of them. Make more posts if you have to, then switch up which sites link to which posts to make it appear more natural and random to Google.

Sometimes it simply takes a few weeks. I put up 6 different sites over the course of 10 days, some made it to page 1 in 10 days, others took upwards of 2 months of settling (i.e. no additional backlinks or changes, just had to sit for a few weeks and get my site re-crawled 2-3x)

40000 is pretty competitive, check out what pr sites on the first page have and how many backlinks they have.

I've checked the PR's and backlinks from the sites of 1st page of google..
The PR's are not so high, there are 2 ezine articles on 4# and 5# with PR6

About the backlinks is low too... just 3 with between 100 and 300... My site today has 150 backlinks (Market Samurai analysis)

I saw in my awstats the robot from google coming to my site frequenly, but I don't know if this robot is responsable to rank the site.

In Market Samurai when I see the SEO competition and put my site there, the field CA (Google Cache Age) is 8 days, is it represents that google reindexed my site 8 days ago?
8 days ago I have already some backlinks and I think that my site could be ranked better...

How can I know if my site didn't go to google sandbox?

What can I do to get my site ranked?
Just continue the backlink ping?

What do you mean with "hault" the pings?

I'm getting in avarage 10 visits per day... none from google for while... =(
some from bookmarkings, yahoo and bing.

Somebody knows what happened with my site?
What could I do to rank it?
