My site got Deindexed from Google. Can Social Locker be reason?

Hello guys,

This is first time I experienced my site got deindexed from Google search.

When I search "site:mysite.com" on Google nothing shows = Means deindexed.

I made it before 5 months ago and it was ranked on 1st page of Google until today when it got de-indexed. I made just ONE backlink to it from 1 PBN site. And this PBN site is still indexed so means my money site didn't get banned for this backlink.

This is the message from Webmaster Tools I've got for this site:

Pure spam
Pages on this site appear to use aggressive spam techniques such as automatically generated gibberish, cloaking, scraping content from other websites, and/or repeated or egregious violations of Google's Webmaster Guidelines

Now what I assume what caused deindexing can be the Social Locker code inside html which was hiding a download button on my site's page. So does this mean cloaking? (Hiding content)?

I need to mention I used Social Locker many many times until now (I do SEO for almost 5 years) and never experienced this deindexing problem before.

This Social Locker code is the one I bought before like 3 years for static html sites (Not Wordpress plugin). Maybe now Google consider this as cloaking, if you hide content with it. What do you think?

A 2nd reason what I suspect my site got deindexed is maybe because some sentences weren't 100% grammar correct. I mean content was unique (Around 400words) manually written by me. But I wrote it fast, maybe some sentences could be written better. I mean words are spelled correctly for sure because I use Chrome's English dictionary to warn me if I spell word wrong when I type. Maybe that could caused some 'thin content' to Google?

Anyway I already submitted Reconsideration Request to Google explaining I removed the social locker from page if that caused problem. Because they didn't told me what exactly caused deindexing. I've just got the message I quoted here in text above. When I was writing Reconsideration Request I forgot to mention about those few grammar mistakes in content. That came to my mind just after submitting it and it was late.

Anyway did anyone of you experienced this before? Should I make new site and forget about this one or just wait for their reply? Do you think I can recover back my site?

Get back to the drawing board man.

Let us know what happens. I know that Google is not a "fan" of locking content... but I would be surprised if that manual review was only because of it. In the end ONLY google knows, and hopefully they respond to you so you can tell us (and fix your issue of course).

What type of site is it?
How much content does the site have?
How many posts/pages?
Did you only lock part of the content or everything?

So does locking content with Social Locker is called cloaking?

It is a niche site about some gaming mod (cheat).

Home page and 3 other pages. Home page have around 400 words. Others less. But everything is unique written by me.

I've only locked download button at download page with social locker code.

Don't lock the content... lock a freebie... If I write a post about "Month End Revenue Reporting for SEO" I make the whole article available but the "FREE Download" of the templates and data and stuff are behind the content locker. Deliver on the "needs fully met" requirement for the keyword search then lock the value added extras.

if you target the keyword "thus-and-such game tips" and then put the tips in a content locker for everyone but google it is definitely cloaking. If you put the tips in a content locker for everyone including google then it is a little bit slippery since you want something in return and it definitely lowers your quality rating in terms of meeting the needs of searchers who don't want surprise hurdles to jump to find what they were searching for.

Grammar would definitely not get your site deindexed. Could be Social Locker. Keep it for a while, search for solutions. If nothing helps then get a new domain and 301 this one to it.

Mate I only locked free download file on my site. I mean the download link was pointing to a CPA (PPD) website. And this link was locked with social locker.

If I 301 redirect this banned one to a new one then a new one too will get banned (deindexed) I think.

Had this happened to one of my sites which was using a social locker. Same message...

If you are on page 1 on google with just one backlink and 4 pages, I would just create a new website. Must be a super low competition keyword you rank for....

I never heard about social locker,but if it is about clocking then obviously you will get banned on Google.2nd reason is also obvious that your webnsite content is not correct,that reason also may be occur.

It's definitely the grammar sometimes if I accidentally use your when I really need to use you're Google will immediately de-index me and send me a notice.


But seriously it might be the cloaking do you have Webmaster tools can you check if there are any manual reviews that have been applied to you.

It's not the social locker, the Google message you got in the SC/WMT is a manual action/penalty for pure spam. This penalty simply means: Your content sucks. It's not your grammar, the content simply doesn't add any value and only exists as filler between ads.

I agree with starki. Your website blows ass lol, 4 pages doesn't add value to anyone. Just build a new site with more substantial content and maybe even a broader website, which can cover multiple areas around whatever your site is about.
