Ok.. I have a website that combined with a sales thread at a forum, generates over $1000.00 a month.
How can I figure out what my business is worth if I want to sell it?
You can't. The one way to really know what the market would be willing to pay for your business is to put it up for competitive auction.
You can however get a rough idea of what similar sites sold for by hanging around in the auction marketplaces and browsing graphs in here (that's a shorter version of the long Sitepoint valuation article that I've linked to in other threads).
You can generally get around 10 months revenue for a site providing you can show at least 3 months data for this. If you can provide more then 3 months data then you should be looking at higher then 10 months revenue.
If your website on average is pulling in $1k/month then you should be looking to get around $10k for your website if you have 3 months worth of data. If the data is less than 3 months then you should be looking around a figure of $3-6k for your site.
