    Hi there,

I have recently notice my site take a complete dive bomb in the SERPS. On closer inspection of the backlinks I can see that someone has been bombarding my site with links anchored with porn phrases.

There are up to 6000 of these links coming from 4 domains (approx 25k links in total). They are not blog links.

I guess it could be competition trying to damage my rankings, although this is not really in a niche that would experience too much competition.

Has anyone experience anything similar and how have you dealt with it? Is it possible to report these links to Google?

I have a few SB backlinks of my own, but generally most of the links are whitehat so if it's possible to flag this with google i'd like to. Is there a process for this?

    A few examples of the bad domains are;

    Thanks

Your competitor prob. trying to knock you off or you may have pissed someone off with SB commenting...

[side note] A friend of mine once had his website hacked and the server wiped clean because, he pissed off some blogger.... Another friend of mine got email-bombed for days until I put in a custom filter.

I wouldn't worry to much, Google will recognize that the links are irrelevant to your site and you should come out of penalty soon enough. Though, you might want to consider building some good links in the mean time.

Those links will get valued at 0 not -1 the velocity and lack of variance of anchor is probably what got you pinched for the short term. No worries eventually you will bounce back and most likely get some benefit from the passed juice regardless of anchor.

It's more important, what kind of link your site provides. If you link to pornsites, that would be bad, but you have no control of what other guys are linking, google will most certainly don't count these in a bad way.

the_demon gave good advice, you may take a temporary dip, but you'll be back...and like he said...concentrate on doing good back links in the meantime and you'll come back stronger

Yeah, I'm suffering from this too. I was like "WTF??" when I was checking my stats and found that some people came with keyword "child porn" to my site. Then I checked my backlinks and found that someone blasted heavily spammed AA list with 2k+ OBL on most of the pages. And I'm ranking for "child porn" in some Russian engines.. Damn, I'm ranking for a competitive keyword on #1 and I found out which of my competitors have done this. After a week he received a nice surprise :)) His site was hacked by somoene

I wish people spend more time promoting their sites than trying to do bad things with competitor's rankings. I just fucking hate such people. Respect your competitors, play by the rules.

Haven't seen any loss of rankings in Google however, since my domain is aged and has authority, I think I'm pretty fine.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I had given some serious thought to burning this site despite it's previous success, but if the general consensus is that the negative effects will not be long lasting I will continue with my efforts to get this ranking again.

Unfortunately Ive not yet been able to spot who has done this, but I'm trying to paint a picture by looking at Whois records and also the other sites targeted and if we share any competitors for our main terms.

AS my site links were reasonably clean and white hat I have reported this to google and to the domain registrar of the infringing domains. In the meantime I guess it's back to work in creating a further round of good quality back links of my own.

It was easy to me because same guy bombed my email and I wasn't able to work for about a week because of this.

I found that guy's hosting, contacted his hosting provider, closed his H account.

He was using 5 VPN services, all of them were taken down after my request.

He was also using amazon AWS services or something - it was took down too.

I posted BAD reviews about his site on many places.

Then I called him and warned that will report his name address and forward all spam he sent to me to his local police. Yeah, probably I've over-kicked him but all such people deserve it. Hate people who are living on other people's bad.

Do some research, maybe you'll find him ;)
