My Side Journey

As my name on here implies, I own/operate an adult cam site (launches in a few weeks). It's not white labeled, it's custom coded (for those nerds out there, we're using MeteorJS for the frontend in addition to our own RTMP stuff etc.. I've been doing the internet media thing for close to 10 years, and doing Carrier grade ISP networks for over 15.. I know my shit when it comes to the internet and technologies, but i've never gone down the IM road. I figured this little exercise would come in handy with my new cam site (I'd really like to Thank all of you for posting such great information, finding this site was amazing!) so I started it up today.

My goal: $50 per day

Phase 1 -

The inception.

I have created a twitter with a great looking female photo, posted plenty of initial tweets etc. I notice a lot of "spam" twitter accounts are disregarded as spam off the bat and Too many non-english speakers/bullshit profiles. I made a legit profile, and so far I have 20 followers (all real people, adding a hot chick). I have also registered a domain that specifically has to do with the Niche I have conjured out of thin air.

Niche Premise: Undisclosed right now, but blends two very distinct high paying current niches with a personal "blog" touch. I don't plan to hire anyone to write my articles, as I'm not looking for filler garbage.

Phase 2 -

In motion.

I plan to (over the next two weeks or so) write 3-5 blog reviews of different products that specifically have to do with my niche. Each review will be written from a Female POV, and each review will link to the product that is being reviewed. I am not targeting females for the niche (though I suspect many will show up), nor am I trying to create a giant spam blog. I'm looking to move products, and monetize the traffic.

That's about where I am at the moment.. Any help, encouraging words, etc are welcome with open arms. Please don't message me asking for my niche (Get your own, beech) unless you're going to come to the table with something comparable.

As soon as I get *SOME* advertising up (Juicy ads is already activated, but the content of the ads is a little outside of my niche.. lots of porn ads would turn off my target niche.. but it's part of it at the same time if that makes any sense?) I'll start doing PPC.. PR and SEO seem cool and cheap, but I'd rather spend some money and get direct results. I've run several successful businesses in the past, so I don't complain when things actually cost money.

I have also doubt about this "Adsense on adult site ... I don't think its a good idea."

I want to know more.

I backed off on the adsense this morning.. I really don't feel like having my legit account axed. Just put in some juicyads and called it a day. My definition of "adult" is different (adult to me means things that require *depending on locality* a person to be 18 years old older.. basically lewd content) than what I believe google thinks is adult. Then again, it's THEIR terms of service and they can interpret it however they want/choose.

Hard part is.. my niche is far from "porn" and/or "adult" so I'm afraid the hardcore juicyads will scare off users (Imagine a porn advertisement next to a coconut water review.. lol)
