My Shopify Journey

Yes, at the moment I fill in the spreadsheet manually. I will probably write some code at some point to just gather the stats for me and draw pretty graphs. But this will only come when I am moving to the next social platform, because at that point you would want Instragram as automated as possible.

For me the aim is not to always use bots. I really hope that the instagram accounts will get to a point where they will show more organic growth than bot growth. I have no idea what or where that point is, but time will tell. I hate the fact that all the good stats tools cost a lot of money. So I will probably end up writing my own.

I've noticed that it depends on the niche, for example my gaming niche would start to grow around the 11-12k mark organically, yes the bots still helped grow 40-50% faster but then there was the unfollowing that came after and the reputation that comes with having an account constantly around 6-7k followings which is never good. While my pet niche seemed to need an extra push and decided to stop botting at around 18k

Thanks so much for these stats. I still have a long way to go. My accounts are all still very new, so I cannot bot as hard as I want to, but that will come. What in your opinion is an aged account. I am on about 500 follows a day now, and the accounts is about 2 months old.

Main instagram account is now unfollowing, so the growth is down a bit, but overall I am happy with the growth so far. Thinking of dropping Google+ from this list, I think it does not add any value.

I have another Google+ account with over 70,000 followers, and I can't get any traffic from there Sad but true

Had a bit of growth on my Facebook page after a posted another video that went sort of viral (12k views, 250 shares). My Primary IG account is now unfollowing, and it really sucks to wait for it. Growth has slowed down a lot, but at least there is still growth

Other IG Stats

Account 1: 2208/3474 - Unfollowing
Account 2: 3165/2421 - Unfollowing
Account 3: 3399/2869 - Following

I am using FP traffic to post pics to my facebook page, twice a day, but only get about 2-3 likes per post. Is it worth spending some money to get the fan base up to about 1-2k?

I have also started to post RSS posts to my twitter account, using Twitterfeed, so hopefully that will bring some followers, although my main focus is still on IG.

My Shopify site opened today, sitemaps submitted to Google, and now we wait (some more).

Since I am only running 3 accounts on my follow Liker at the moment, I was thinking of creating another account, maybe a level up from the Main account. For example. if account 1 is about Porsche cars, the new account will be about cars alone. Not sure if it's worth it, as I am posting pictures manually and it does consume a bit of time. Oh well, no hurry for that, time will tell I suppose.

The first few weeks of starting up is the hardest, Things move slowly, and I think if you can just get past this first barrier of getting your first social account to grow organically, then I think it will become a lot easier.

I still have a lot of motivation, and every day is exciting as I capture my stats and see the movement in the account. The greatest thrill for me so far is when you post a video on Facebook and you see the views roll in. Its just as sad when it stops

Nice journey! Regarding posting try to hire a V.A I have somebody doing this for me with 2 accounts at 10bucks a week. You can hire somebody from Upwork to do this for you.
Btw I wonder what's your configuration, do you run bots 24/7? How many people do you follow per day?
for posting picture do you switch between accounts from the same phone?

A VA might not be a bad option, although I feel that at this stage I can still do it myself, as I get to know the niche a lot better. I bot 24/7 but every account has its own settings where I try and make it as human like as possible. My oldest account follow about 800 people per day, and the newest one follow about 500. The newest one is about 1 month old. I post from the same phone just switching accounts, and have only 3 accounts. I don't use any proxies at the moment.

My store is now open for business, and loaded a few cool products to get it going. Now we wait on Google to index. I ran my first post to a product yesterday, and it did not go well, I expected a few more visitors to the site. This tells me that the following I have at the moment is still way too small. I will add a column to my sheet to show email subscribers as well, I think that is important.

Unfollowing is the worst part of this journey, I hate it, it takes forever, and the growth slows down so much. The primary account is still on 2249 following, so it will still take a few days before it can start to follow again. Engagement on the account is still good.

I also think that I should throw a few dollars at the Facebook page, just to get the base up, 359 fans is a bit pathetic

Thanks for your reply, posting from the same phone in the 3 accounts while botting might be risky don't you think? If something happen you lose the 3 accounts at once. Btw that's why I use a VA, so I manage two accounts from my phone and 2 accounts are managed in the VA phone, if something happen I'll lose 2 accounts but still have 2 accounts as backup. Just my two cent.

Very good point, I figured that 3 accounts is not too much, but I agree, if you lose it, you lose everything.

Unfollowing is painful. On some of my other accounts it seems less painful. It seems like something happens when you pass the 3000 follower mark. Here is my current stats



And here is some stats on my other accounts:

Account1: 2400/1085 - Unfollowing
Account2: 3484/141 - Started following again today
Account3: 4488/4121 - Unfollowing

Here is a graph of the growth of the 3 accounts:



Yes yes, I know there is 4 lines, the green line is the old account I sort of abandoned, it's still botting, but ever so slowly, unfollowing more that its following, and will just let it be, maybe one day it takes off. So the legend to the graph above is:
Blue is account 1
Red is account 2
Purple is account 3

I am sure Account 2 will pass account 3 again once I open the throttle to the following bot. But notice this: The red and blue accounts started unfollowing at the same time, but the red account kept better growth during this period, I have 2 theories, either the red account is in a better niche or it is the fact that its above 3000 followers.

Lesson of the day. Don't ever let all your accounts unfollow users at the same time. This will cause depression. Always have one account that follows, so that you can see growth and be excited and happy. Make sure you plan your strategy accordingly.

I see my primary account has been soft locked from following, been unfollowing too aggressively. Now I need an opinion.

Option 1: Is it better to follow up to 7,500 and then back to 0
Option 2: Follow up to the number of followers if below 7,500 and then unfollow back to 0. So if I have 2000 followers, I follow up to 2000 and then back to zero
Option 3. Follow & Unfollow at the same time, with the unfollowing set to a bit higher than the following to your following will sort of stay constant

It feels like I want to try option 3 for a while, so that you never have to unfollow on its own, yes the growth will be slower, but you will not have the weeks where you just unfollow, surely it will just balance out?

What do you guys think?
