Hi all,

I had another journey a while ago, cost me a bit of time and aborted it because the niche was horribly wrong. I have now chosen a much smaller niche, and hope I have more success.

I have not closed any of my other accounts, and I think I will still aim to make Instagram my main focus, but will attempt to grow all social accounts. As the topic suggests, the aim is to send traffic my shopify store, selling apparel and maybe even a few other products. I will make use of a drop ship model.

Tools I use is:

  • Follow Liker (Instagram edition)
  • Social Blade (Instagram Analytics)
  • Cyfe (All social platforms)
  • FP Traffic for Facebook publishing

My primary Instagram account is now 2 weeks old, and have started very slow botting on it today. I will follow other account's followers in my niche until I have 1000 followers, then unfollow all, and then start over. I have 3 other instagram accounts that I am still botting with, and hopefully they will be able to support and grow the primary account.

My Social platforms I will be focussing on, in order of the time I will be spending on them:

  1. Instagram
  2. Reddit
  3. Facebook
  4. Pinterest
  5. Youtube
  6. Twitter
  7. Google+

I have created my shopify store today, so traffic on the site is on zero. New domain, matching my social usernames 100%

Social Stats as they are today

Instagram: 112 (Followers)
Twitter: 16 (Followers)
Facebook: 46 (Fans)
Pinterest: 3 (Followers)
Youtube 3 (Subscribers)

I will be redirecting all traffic from all my previous sites to the new shopify store, so that will at least give me some traffic, but I suspect the bounce rate will be high since they are in were very different niches.

This is really a project starting from zero, so wish me luck. I know it will take time, and I will attempt to update this thread as often as possible.

I have noticed that my like to follower ratio is close to 20%, which I think is awesome, and sort of gives me hope for the niche I chose.

Nice Journey!
I was following your last one and was sad that you closed it. Wish you all the best with this one and hope you will rock it ;)

Good luck! I am growing IG followers too, but I am going to promote Clickbank products :)

If I could give you any help at all as someone who is an expert in instagram but a novice with Shopify/teespring and all those sale sites, I suggest the best thing you could do is focus less on your like/follow ratios in the beginning, and rather your growth and website analytics. I have friends with a 1M comedy account, and one with a 2.2M nature/travel account, and that's when the sales start to become huge. Don't worry though, once you get to roughly 50k, there starts to be some organic growth. Just keep going :)

Awesome. Thanks mizelos for the advice. But what would you say to focus on? Could you be more clear?

Thanks for all the support guys:

It is still very early days, but the initial growth is on par, and I am happy with it. Likes to followers on my posts are at about 20%, which is awesome. I know its not that important, but it makes me happy :)

Like I mentioned, I will be starting with Instagram, so here is some stats (followers/following)

Primary Account: 247/445
Account 2 (support account, outside the primary niche): 1462/4189
Account 3 (The old account that did not work, still botting with it, but not as focussed on it): 1630/327

Will update again soon.

Quick update

Instagram Primary Account: 346/494

It seems as if there is some natural growth on the account as well. Botting is still very slow on this account.

Account 2 is still unfollowing with stats: 1477/3700. Its currently in an unfollowing state, so having any growth is a bonus. I have decided that when the following reach zero, I will not follow more than the number following me. So I will from now on not grow my followings higher than my followers, Just a bit of a theory I have, and will put it to the test on this account.

So I made a video yesterday, related to my niche, and was surprised how well it did:

On Facebook it is on 7000 views and 180 shares, Youtube was a bit slower and only got 1100 views up to now. I still suck at youtube, so will start to study that a bit more. At least I gained 3 subscribers :) On facebook I also grew my likes by 200%, but on such a small base that does not mean much. I now have 158 fans on Facebook

Instagram stats:

Account 1: 407/434 - Following
Account 2: 1568/3226 - Unfollowing
Account 3: 1727/662 - Following

Keep moving forward

I have started to keep a spreadsheet of my tracked metrics. What else needs to be added do you think? This is all for my primary account

So my video on facebook did okay, it grew the page a bit, but still does not seem to go completely viral. Its on 12,500 views and 271 shares, but seems to have died off. I asked a few pages to share the video, but none of them responded.

Don't redirect old nontargeted traffic to the new site, it's pointless. Chuck it as a loss and focus on a new journey.

Good luck.

Thanks, I was thinking about this a lot, and could not really make up my mind. I think you helped :)

I have just removed all the redirects to the new site. So all traffic onto this site is now just for the new journey. Quite a big moment for me :)

This is what a botting graph looks like. I know its still a young graph, but you get the idea :)
