My SandBox Experiment...

It seems (from what I've read) that it all depends on whether

1. You've been picked up by the G. algorithm, in which case I think you're out in 3 months if things are tidied up (no site reconsideration request required), or
2. You've been picked up by a G. human review, in which case things are much less certain, and you would need to submit a site reconsideration request which then goes back for another human review.

Useful thread, and one close to my heart, I too will watch with interest, - and good luck!

I haven't be "deindexed" ie. when I google my URL I still can be found.

Isn't site reconsideration only for when you have been completely kicked off?

I am still in the index, just waaaaayyyyyy down there.

Human review I think is highly unlikely.

The content of my site is not spun crap content. At the same time it isn't "award winning" content either

So I guess we'll see how it goes.

I mean - if I was possible to keep a site in sandbox by blasting, then would it be possible to use such a strategy against your competitors!

Man, i was just about to start a thread like this.

I have a domain that i launched about 12 months ago (it has over 10 years history with previous owners). I launched the site and managed to get a few decent backlinks (has a pr4) anyway i didnt have time to do loads of WH SEO so paid for 2 xrumer (bhw member) blasts totalling 40k. For my 2 kws my home page got to page 1 and page 6 which i was happy with considering i hadnt done much to it.
In March i paid for a SB blast (another bhw member) .... at first my site dropped to page 10 and page 16 .... over a few weeks they started to regain the original rankings. Then about 3/4 weeks ago my 2 kw's just went .... no where to be seen? but the odd thing is that my site is on page 1 for a kw that is a mixture of my 2 original terms!!!!

My guess is one of the following.

1) any site that has over % of back links from comments and/or profiles may get banned for the kw term they have targeted.

2) posting comments on unrelated blogs? might raise a red flag with g?

3) google has tracked the footprint of the SB blast i paid for?

4) and thinking outside the box .... google has added 2 + 2 and got 5 and noticed by my browsing history i visit these forums and given my site a penalty?

If you blasted your initial links using keyword rich anchor text, try blasting this time using your url as your anchor text. If you blast too many links having keyword rich anchor text - even if you vary them - and you have no links using your entire domain as anchor text, then you risk to appear non natural. if your site is mysite.com try obtaining links as mysite.com

This was a problem i had with some of my domains that got sandboxed, and got out after i obtained such links. Not all of them, though, so it may work, it may not work, worth a chance anyway.

Interesting. You are right for the most part I only use anchor rich text. What type of links are you using for this?

Blog Comments, Article Directories, Forum Profiles etc?

I'm having the same problem with my site. Before a month ago I had great rankings for my major keywords on pages 1 and 2 of the google and then I'm nowhere to be found, but site still comes up in the google's search results when searched under url.

I emailed to google for site reconsideration they said that site was not blocked by google's human reviewer, and for that purpose I don't have to submit my site for reconsideration.

What I was doing is blasting my site to 600 article sites per week and couple months before my site got dropped I was submitting my site to about 1000 profiles per week with various keywords.

What I did couple of weeks ago is I went to each profile I created and removed all of my links from those profiles, I did not remove all about 15k profile links in one day due to thinking that it will trigger major change in the amount of my backlinks and google may not like it. I was removing 1k per day. Now all of my profile backlinks are gone.

I also stopped generating any backlinks (recommended to my situation by level 5 user on google's forum). All I'm doing now is promoting twitter account for my site by getting followers, and submitting 100% unique content articles 700-1000 words to my site once a week.

My site's domain age: 1 year
PR:2
Pages on site: 247
Current amount of backlinks: 29K
Twitter followers: 1352

We will see how fast I will get back in rankings.

Keep us updated. I have some sites in the same situation too. They are MFA, get sanboxed because I build 200 profile links in a day. The sites moved to page 1 and now they are at 200+.

dude, it's not so hard to get out of Sandbox (if you are sandboxed). If you are ranked 500 doesn't mean 100% ur sandboxed.

This is something I am going to try for one of my sandboxed sites to see what happens. I think it is a great suggestion. I have analyzed the backlinks of many high ranking competitors and they always seem to have a good proportion of their anchor texts simply as the URL itself.

Also you can use a trick that I figured out for some of the clients that had problems after huge backlink "campaigns" previously and came to us for solution: take all the URLs from the sitemap (pages, posts, etc. everything that matters) and make a spintax of them so they'll be rotated in any software you're using. And blast all URLs on your site every day! Do this for 2 weeks with increasing volume (example: first day 1000 comments in total, last day 10000 comments in total) your site will bounce back and rise in SERPs a lot. Good luck!
