ok here we go I received a pm from somebody, (not going to mention their name), on how do I tell if I could trust a member or not, and here are my rules and probably everybody elses, but I thought I would put it up for people anyway.

Rule 1 obvious check the itrader, do the positives outweigh the negatives.

Rule 2 check the reputation

My 3rd rule is my own and some people may do it some people may not, but I check out the members previous posts, try and get a feel for the person and try to get and idea of them, are they out to make a quick buck, or are they helpful, you will find 95-96% of people who are helpful, are genuine.

This is not definitive and does not always work, but it slims the chances of being scammed. This is not a perfect world and as much as we try this is not a perfect forum, you can still be scammed, and whilst we try to keep this to minimum there are still people out there who care about no-one or nothing except making some quick money.

I hope these help and best of luck to all members on here.

trust it's something what's '' earned '' sometime require too long time than you have available before to take any decision ... I`ve lost during years of online exclusive work more than most normal average peoples even dream , in terms of financial loses ... Do you know what keep me on this ? I have an principle '' never quit and never look back just for learning from my own mistakes '' , none and never can be fully trusted ! Not even on real life , always will have something to hide even to close friends/peoples nearest you . So ...

Depending on the situation, you could ask a staff member for their opinion. We deal with a good amount of members on the daily and could tell you if we ran across anything shady with the person in question.

Yeah I totally agree, but obviously you don't want to have to pm mods and admins every single time you want to know about a person, it would take up to much of their time, I suppose it depends on how much you are looking to spend, if it is only a few dollars then work on your own intative, if you are looking to spend a few hundred dollars then you would go out of your way to find out everything about the person, including asking a mod or admin.

I get asked all the time about potential partners and such. Most people are considerate enough to only contact me if the venture includes a good amount of money.

If I can give you some insight that might save you $1,000's, I'm more than willing to dedicate my time to helping. :)

"but I check out the members previous posts"

That one I like.....very useful and definatley the iTraders, except I've met some extremely knowledgeable and honest people here with 0 iTraders!

No I totally agree it is quite hard to trust people as you don't get to meet them in person, but chatting to them on a messenger of some sort helps as well.
