Your proxy should be fine, however when navigating on the web there are more ways to find out your location.
All browsers have a geolocation API, which is used to identify your location, this is disable able.
You also have Accept-Language and Navigator-language, headers placed on requests by the browser, which will not leak your location but your country.
Multilogin provides a good solution to this, where is mimics firefox or chrome browser and lets you change these settings and put a proxy on top of it. Its expensive for basic uses cases but there are more alternatives out there which I dont really know.

That was the first thing I did.
I know about the geolocation APIs, but they can still reveal the real location while using my VPN extension or proxy? That's weird.
