My rankings dropped, thinking about solutions...Need help!

I have a +100 page website in the travel niche with a silo stucture.
Quality content with +1000 words per silo page + 20 x 100-700 word articles to support it.
My onpage SEO seems ok to me.
I use 1 affiliate link per page.
My traffic (and also my income) dropped to 30% since February/March.

I've improved my onpage SEO where I could (added H2 tags, lowered affiliate links from 2-4 to 1, removed articles that I found not good enough, lowered keyword density to <2% where necessary, started blogging several times a week for freshness,...) but my rankings are not improving (yet).

What options do I still have?

1) Buy PBN links
2) Wait till the next update to restore rankings
3) Use a flat website structure in stead of a silo (*)

(*) Some pages on my website did not lose rankings. Mostly 1000+ words pages without supporting pages underneath them. These are silo's that I was building but were not finished yet. At this moment I'm even considering combining the silo pages + 20 supporting articles in several superpages with +5000 words.

Help me :)

agree.

otherway to test this:

REDUCE % on some of your pages and wait 7 days. see if you get improvements.
thats a basic test to see if your anchors are fucked up.

also, februar AND march were big g+ algo changes.

some blinded by gurublogs say it was "magic ferry dust", for me it was a random mix of on page density and off page anchors getting tighter..

Delute how much?

The rankings of my homepage are still in tact.
40% naked / branded anchors
45% other anchors
7% exact match 1 anchor (and is still on nr 12)
8% exact match 2 anchor (and is still on nr 15)

I have almost no links to my silopages and these are the kw's that are impacted from top 3 to page 2-3.

Well then it's rather simple to dilute them, isn't it ? Please take both the internal anchor text ratio also in consideration and build some branded links afterwards. I've played around a little bit and the sweet spot seems to be between 1 and 2% exact match.

I got slapped at 2,47 % and experienced and also a sharp decline, going below 1%. This might be a little different for your kw.

Well you shouldn't have used them in the first place, same goes for static sidebar links or such bullshit. Internal links are not much different from externals, you want them contextual embeded in relevant text.

Somewhere I read for internal you can push up to 50% of exact match anchors... is it wrong? I was just going to test it these days...

As far as I know 1% exact match is for external exact match
 
could also be content age could be the fact that your links are getting less valuable over time. Try looking at some of your older posts and adding content to them and increasing their value. When you're done with that you can re-share them across social media and balance a few new links to them.

About a month or two ago I was seeing a drop in my keywords and I started to freak out because I was building more and more content but somehow losing more keywords. I did an analysis on my network of links and found out that a bunch of my sites had dropped in value so I replaced those links with new ones and lo and behold rankings went back to where they were before.
 
Well things are getting worse....

For one of my most important keywords I rank now with
url.com/keyword/supportingpage/ in stead of url.com/keyword/

I randomized anchors on all my internal linking.
My overall keyword density is 1.55%.
I just noticed that the keyword density of my H1/H2/H3 tags is >10%.
I use a lot of partial match keywords in the H1/H2/H3 tags.
Could that be THE problem?

It's trial&error for me...
 
Definitely reduce the amount of pages you have to the ones that are most important. Also if you purchase the content i would suggest you make sure their is no duplicates or spun garbage.
 
One thing to consider is if you have an exact match site. So to talk about this, I had a site that ranked well for years. The on page content was perfect. One day, the site dropped. I changed so many things. I changed the keyword density, removed ads, etc. Nothing worked. I copied all the same content onto a new domain and the site began to rank again. I got an exact match domain penalty and there was nothing that would fix it.
 
In general, try to check Webmaster Tools for penalties and check your backlinks if you have lost some links. You might have a lot of questions running in your mind.
