Domain age, backlink quality (if it's an expired domain name, check its backlink profile and its origical niche twice), content type balance, keyword pick. If you are totally sure these all are alright then go for link building as others said.

I have not used affiliate products yet. But will do so after page views cross 30K /month mark.
