Hey Guys and Gals,

I haven't been in the forums lately because I have been working day and night trying to test and tweak. I wanted to share some of my results with you as it might help the community out, Newbs and Vets alike. I have been testing adsense vs yahoo/bing ads vs chitika across 40 of my sites with various niches. I was doing this because I was tired of all the rules of adsense and fear of one day waking up and hearing I won't be getting a check. Why do I have that fear? I know quite a few people that lately have been getting their adsense accounts banned for multitudes of different reason and I wanted to know if there was truly an good alternative.

First let me start off by saying that Chitika was not even close in the competition. I mean not even close. I was getting .02-.07 per click for the same US traffic I get .45-.90 on adsense. Now that that is out of the way let me move on to the rest of the results. Yahoo/Bing(AKA Media.net) started out ok then got real crappy. In the beginning my RPM was 4.00 then it went to 0.00. I was in complete belief at that point there was no feasible alternative to the Big G. Then, instead of just giving up on it I gave them a call. (You actually get a rep) . They looked over my site and I explained what my CPM was with g00gle and that my traffic was all US based females. They looked into the account and told me to use only 1 ad unit and explained to me the best placement for my sites. After a couple of weeks testing and tweaking my RPM went to 23.00. It has now been about 2 months and my main site has an RPM of about 39.00 consistently and other sites are fluctuating between 4.00rpm and 26.00rpm. This beats my CPM at Google by about 11.00. It won't work with every niche however. What I have noticed is that if you are going to use Yahoo/Bing ads use them on sites that have FEMALES that are US Based. The other sites I tried like my quotes sites did not even come close to adsense because they are worldwide traffic.

The point is there are alternatives and there is life after adsense. For my main site I am now able to make triple what I was because I have 1 ad unit from Bing and I replaced my other 2 units with affiliate banners on a rotator. Another thing I can tell you is if you are using affiliate banners don't use the links the Affiliate network gives you. I don't care what people say it hurts SEO. I have tried this time and time again and I always have the same results. So take the time to cloak the link and upload your own banner with your own alt tags. It will take you maybe 5 minutes.

Your AdSense CPC looks great...if your traffic is legit and so is your content, I would not worry about being banned.

With .90 CPC I'd definitely not go for any other network.

My main sites are now making more without adsense. It was an average of .57 with adsense .45-90 . I still use them on my other sites but after working out the tweaks I am doing much better without them with my top sites.

Thanks for sharing mate, I might have to try the Bing/Yahoo network out since I got banned from Adsense.

Its good to know adsense isn't the only viable option out there. Awesome work at getting it right.

Good thing about adsense is it can be used in almost all niche (except very few) , downside is , you will be at risk if you are dependent on it. Also CPC is too low. I feel CPA is the best way to go forward. But again , in some niches it is so difficult to get some CPA offers.

Your Adsense CPC looks great...if your traffic is legal and content too, that is awesome. I am also managing a blog with of a same niche can this work for me?

Good for you for finding a better targetted monetization. $ .90 CPC is not bad at all for most AdSense niches.

Those are great results congratulations on a job nicely done. This is great to know, that there are still some ways on how to earn better other than adsense.

It is definitely worth trying alternatives. The affiliate offer I am having really good success with is Redbox. I am using that one instead of my 728x90 adsense ad.

Definitely not the only option out there anymore. One thing I can say is to just make sure to test.

My adsense CPC is good but using a combination of aff offers and yahoo is working better for me.

All legit traffic, it is from SEO, Fanpages, and email list. All I can say is give it a try.

No it is not bad. I think much of it has to do with getting quality traffic. I know that when I had adsense on my main blog people were bidding on my website through placements which helped drive my cpc up.

I was honestly surprised at the results myself. I was stuck in the mentality of "I have to be careful, I can't advertise here or there, what if G00gle don't like it". Then I realized by doing this it was like I didn't own my own business. I was working for them. I was doing everything I could to make sure I didn't break any rules. I was honestly sick of walking on eggshells all the time. Yahoo/Bing is fairly new at this and they admit that. They do not hide it when you talk to a rep. I was told they are still working out the kinks but they plan on beating out the Big G within the next couple of years by offering higher percentages of what they get. They want quality traffic which is understandable. Also, I am making more with 1 Bing ad unit than I was with 3 Google units which freed up my space for my affiliate offers. So this was a win/win situation.

The Media.net people are great. They're trying to be a friendlier Adsense, and it's working. You do have to be in touch with your rep on every new site so that both of you can keep tweaking. In my experience, Media.net outperforms Adsense more often than not.

I too have started working on a new micro site. CPC a little low then you but if it will rank, It will be good. Thanx for sharing mate

I just wanted to give everyone an update. I retried adsense and rotated with yah00/b1ng. My cpm/rpm with g00gle is now at about 22.00 while b1ng/yah00 is now holding steady at about 38.00! I am really happy with this. Remember, not all niches work with Yah00. It seems to work best with niches targeted in the US and Canada, women 30+
