My PPV Problem... Maybe you can help?

Hey BHWers,

This is what is going on with me and PPV advertising:

I have ran a number of different campaigns from freebies to trial offers 13 in total over the past couple of months.

How I set up the campaign:
1. Find offer that is converting well with my network.
2. Do keyword/URL research. (I gather around 10 - 40)
3. Set up the campaign
4. Tweak and edit campaign

Company: L*e*a*d***I*m*p*a*c*t*


Here is the PROBLEM for me is that I'm not making much to any profit.

I'll invest $200 and earn $198 or I'll Invest $500 and Earn $520.

I Just keep breaking even or make very little profit.

Don't get me wrong it's nice to get my money back but whats the point if I don't earn any...

Any Ideas?

I would appreciate your help.

Are you using any tracking to determine what keywords or urls are leading to the conversions? Use something like prosper and then weed out the non-converting keywords and urls.
 
Are you tracking the individual targets to see which ones are converting?

Often times the targets that get the most traffic can be the worst converting. If you are starting your campaign with 40 targets you should constantly be drilling that down and adding new targets to find the best converters.

Example:

Target A costs you $20 a day and brings you 2 sales @ $15. Winner.

Target B costs you $20 a day and brings you 0 sales, it just burns your budget. Loser.

Target C costs you $10 a day and brings 1 sale @ $15. Winner.

Target D costs you $30 a day and brings you 1 sale @ $15. Loser.

In this scenario you are losing money, but could easily be turning a profit if you could isolate the best performers and cut out the fat.
 
Thank you both for the info very much this makes sense and I thought about doing this but the only way I know how to track is buy using the ppv network tracking system and contacting my am and having the offer owner place the pixel on there site. Do you guys know simpler way of doing this or a software I could use?

If you could provide me with a link or more info that would be great.
