My post won't budge in the SERPs?

I've got a term that gets around 2k search terms a month. The on-page SEO is perfect but it's been stuck on page 6.

I have another post on my site that ranked for this term (#3) so I moved/deleted the first paragraph of the ranking post to my problem post in hopes it would help google rank the correct page. Still no luck, my ranking post got taken off the first page and no movement on my other page so I'm not too sure what's up.

My site is about 3.5months old, but my other post I wasn't even trying to rank, ranked in the top 3. What am I doing wrong?

Has anyone else experienced this?

with such a new site 3,5 months, rankings can be anywhere; if you ranked #3 for a post, then this is the post to keep and improve; I would first of all put the content back where it was to see if you get your ranking back; then make that post that used to rank #3 (and should rank again) the landing page, not the post on page 6.

The ranking post is currently ranking for the terms its supposed to be. The content within that post isn't relevant to the search terms I'm trying to rank the other page for. If that makes sense.

Example of my problem (not my niche):
Ranking post - best portable air conditioner
*ranking for best portable air conditioner, some other LSIs, and best air conditioners

Troubled page - best air conditioners
*stuck on page 6

Forgot to mention that I have PBN links pointing to my troubled page and no links at all pointing to my ranking page. Could this be a penalization?
 
try to be more flexible maybe? google will do anything to make sure you do not know what is going on; as they say, throw it to the wall and see what sticks.

Did you check your Top 10 competitors metrics and backlinks quality? If your competitors are weak you can beat them by doing proper on page SEO and building quality backlinks. How many PBN links passing to your target page? All the PBN links got indexed?

I know there's 20 or so that comes up in ahrefs, they're not my network though. It's a service here: SpeedRank by GoldenGlovez and t0mmy

As for my competitors, some of them have close to no backlinks but rank number 2-10. Could be PBN links. The number 1 spot is taken by this site that has a ton of high metric backlinks BUT not niche relevant (donation links) or high quality (found some of his PBN links lol)

I mean one of my pages were ranking for this term but it was the wrong page -facepalm-
 
From the example, it almost appears if the two pages may be competing against each other.

One page, the primary keyword is a four word term. The other page is a three word variation term.

I'm in a niche myself, where three word terms are the base minimum. Four and five word terms are LSI. It's a lot easier to rank a page for a four word term (at least in my case) than the three word term, which has HUGE competition.
 
You have 2,000+ words of content? You have 3+ images? Is the content unique?

If not you may want to thicken up and see if it helps. Size counts in the new Google.

You told here that you can't rank the target keyword even if you cut and paste the first paragraph to aimed page.
How many words you have written on target post and what is the keyword density?

What is the position of main keyword now?

Both articles are about 2500 words each.

Main keyword has been ranked at 55 for the past few month. My secondary related money article is currently sitting in the 20s
 
Write more articles with key words, with an exact entry. Also check your Adwords settings

So far I've got about 20 articles ranging from 1500 to 5K.
My supporting articles are 1.5k each and money articles are 2.5k to 5k.
Each article's on-page is optimized to the finest detail that I could think of.
Title matches keyword and is h1, slug optimized, image file name has the keyword/alt tag, keyword within first 100 words and LSI throughout the article and also as a few h2 tags, a few outbound contextual links, a few internal links, a few images when possible, meta title and description with keywords/LSI keywords

I want to focus on my current articles, maybe compile some into one article and make skyscraper articles = longer articles and I feel it'll allow me to have less pages to build links for.

Did you try high authority link building?
 
Unless I'm reading it wrong, the solution to your problem "was" quite easy. 301 the ranking article to the none ranking article.

It's ranking for its own set of keywords I want it ranking for though. (My competitors have the same keyword)

My non-ranking article (my main keyword) has backlinks to it but is the one that's not ranking.

Because of the keyword is low competition,
may be your target keyword is bit competitive. That's why stuck on 6th page. You can't rank the keyword even if you built PBN links, so that are not quality and not enough to beat your competitors. So you can try with some quality guest post sites.
There are some things you have to follow while choosing guest post links
