You are wrong, these are two different advertising methods and both of professionals in SEO/Adwords know what they are doing.

OP has one palatial point. I know a guy who ran a moderately successful ad network
Dude got access to his top earners ad strategies, which he has now incorporated into his taboola/revcontent ad campaigns. Pretty powerful stuff if you can do it right
