My Online Store - Dropshipped

Hello everyone,

I'm currently building an online store with the help of some open source software. I admit that I started going the wrong way at first. I was planning on selling replica clothing and shoes until I found out how illegal that was :D. So now I'm restocking my store but I know that the best way is the dropship way. Eventually I'll probably order in wholesale bulk and try to make that successful. Those of you who've been down this road before me please shed some knowledge. I've been doing tons of research and trial and error and I honestly just need some advice on the best way to go from here.

I belibe the methods called dropshipping :)

The challenge is knowing whats in stock.
 
Dropshipping is a great choice particularly if you don't have money to carry inventory. However, the biggest question you need to be asking is "What do I sell?" There are so many variables to make a profitable dropshipping website:
1) Is there a market for what I want to sell?
2) Can I penetrate that market with organic search results?
3) If not, what is my PPC budget?
4) Who are the available dropshippers for the products I want to sell? Are they reliable? Are the items always in stock?
5) What are the profit margins on those items?

I could go on and on...

The bottom line is that there is a ton of work involved in setting up a profitable store.

Thanks for the advice. I actually already have my store setup and ready. My main problem is actually finding the right dropshippers. I'm trying to avoid the scams and pitfalls. I want to sell urban clothing, shoes, and accessories. All I'm finding is wholesalers who I'd have to buy in bulk from, but that isn't the same (I'd have to actually have it myself to sell it that way). Do any of you know of some solid companies that I can truly count on? I know its asking alot because no one wants to share their secrets but maybe I can hook up with some one and we can help each other. I can link my site to yours or something like that.

Yeah.. The main problem is finding legit products and legit dropshippers. :(

The sad thing is, I have not found em yet.. They seem to hide somewhere. Lol.. Currently, the only legit supplier are the ones that requires me to purchase wholesale.. :(
 
How fast can you deliver to our DUTCH clients? What's the % of the shopprice that you offer?
 
I wouldnt recomend using a drop shipping service especially when selling to customers that live in the US. It takes the items forever and a day to pass through customs and if you plan on selling on places like ebay your rating will drop down big time!!
