Yes I have read ti before buying the monitors. As I already said, it depends what you do. Also the study was conducted on small monitors (17 inch I think) and another study showed that if the monitor resolution is very high (as on a 24 inch monitor), the productivity increase from using multiple monitors is not that big.

It only helps a lot if you have to manage multiple windows at the same time. For example on a monitor you would have your WP blog, on another you would have MS Word and file manager to open many .doc articles to publish on the blog. On 3rd monitor you'd have file manager in thumbnail view so you find images fast. That would increase blog posting of multiple posts by an order of magnitude.

If you do coding you could use on the 2nd monitor the realtime diagram of the database and an SQL editor. On 3rd monitor you could have documentation and code snippets. On 1st would be the IDE.

If you do get 3 monitors your RAM requirement will at least double because you will keep lots of programs ope at the same time. Currently I have 8GB RAM (64 bit operating system) and a quad-core CPU, which is enough.

I can build you something like that. PM and let me know what specs you need for the computer and how many monitors you would like set up. Materials for desk design can be carbon fiber, aluminum ( anodized to any color you prefer, frosted/tinted/mirrored glass and full touch screen monitoring built into the desk. We also do CNC hardwood desk frames and legs to add any design you would like directly into the wood.
