My new Forum Revenge backlink strategy

Okay this all happened just recently and I wanted to run it by you all. It's kind of funny how it happened too.

First off I do SEO for a local biz and I found spammers posting on my blog and did something about it. I get about 10 spams a day now and I really fixed them....
But not to go too far I also wanted to talk about my forum;
It has been a work in progress and I have yet to open it up, but I have had over 30k people spam it during this year... So I have 30k members who can't even post because the forum is closed off so I know damn well they are spammers.

My (genius) idea LOL, Sorry it may be a dum dum idea but I'm gonna do it.

So on my blog I changed the addresses of the spammers to google.com and made a remark like "how wonderful this site is blah blah blah" and used one keyword in it as well. So now they don't have a link back to their site, and they don't get what they were after. I get a keyword used in the post and life is looking pretty dang good for that site... It actually changed my ranking... I can't prove it but I figure it is working just as I planned.

So with all those people who spammed my forum, here is my backlink revenge technique;

Each day I will focus on about 100 of them, and I have 2 family members who are willing to help me do this too, I may outsource it as well.

I will change each link going from these member spammers and change their information as I see fit.

I will direct them to;
Articles
Facebook pages
squidoo lenses
twitter profile/ individual posts
blog posts
social networking sites
etc...

And of course these all link back to the forum...


I don't know if its going to work, but what the Xrumer spammers and forum spammers thought to get out of my site is going to backfire on them. Just as it did for my blog.

What do you all think? Is this a good move as a new forum creator? I just want to change the way spammers hit forums with the crap they do.

I almost got kicked off of a host because I forgot to close my forum when I first started, some idiot posted children ---- on my site and they got a hold of me and told me about it... I was unaware anyone even knew about my site...


So I'm going to fix all my spammers good.

I have the power as the owner to change profile links and to change their information on their profile so this is an undertaking I think will be worth it in the long run....

I would sure like to hear back from you all here, I trust your judgment on this issue. I will also write my progress too...

Imagine 30k backlinks to my other pages that link back to my facebook and other places throughout the internet. All from around the world...

I'm not saying xrumer is a bad thing or freaking out on any of you, I would love to share my site but I know some of us here probably do forum spam so I think I will keep those details to myself.... I figure it won't take as long as you think, hey, if it does I guess I will update this in a year after I finally changed all my forum spammers links LOL...

From what i understand you own a forum that has spam on it!

You then want to edit that spam and link it to articles etc (i.e. your content) and then that content links back to the forum!

If that's correct then what a bloody waste of time... secure the forum more and stop the spammers registering and creating the accounts in the first place. This will not help your site rank higher and is not worth the effort at all.

Actually they have only become members, they have not yet wrote in the forum at all because the forum is closed for people writing posts.

I don't want to spam filter them, I want backlinks from my own forum using them as the tools to do this. So I want them to join, I want to replace their links with my own.

It's like I'm spamming my own forum just using them as the tool to do it.

if those pages you're linking to all link back to your forum, google will sanbox your site for having way too many 2 way links.

meanwhile, we (the spammers) won't really care, and we'll just keep running the programs we run, and making new accounts.

Most of us just check to see if the link showed up, if it disappears soon after, life (and spam) goes on.

secure the forum more and stop the spammers registering and creating the accounts in the first place.

I never heard something like this, but as long as I'll be alive I will hear something new each day, right now I'm stumped reading your post.

Okay I thought about that, so I figured I would send all links to my FB page, so it doesn't get sandboxed.

So if the spammers have success... I won't???

Maybe I will delete the 30k people and start fresh and go from there... keep the spammers at bay, but if any get through I will do this trick???

Nonetheless, it works for my blog and that I will never change... I think the spammers to my blog actually helped me out so much it is amazing... I now have the top 2 results on the front page of google since yesterday... I'm amazed at the results. I used to be on page 17 in google for the keyword, now I hit the top of google.

If you were going to do this kittykat you would be better of deleting all the spammers and just making you own fake profiles. At least this way you will find it easier to cotrol what each profile has on it. However as everyone has said it really is just a waste of time.

secure your forum. try something like project honeypot or bot scout.
outsource someone to delete the spam that does get through and to create fake profiles.

making money is as much about time management than your methods and sales/traffic.

I know nothing about forums, this is all new to me, I do however know lots about blogs...
I went into my forum and looked at some old profiles from early last year to see if they got any backlinks from posting their profile on my forum... I just did 5 that looked like they were ligit... they had no backlinks from anyone! not even from my forum, so I think you're all right on this one at the moment...

BUT not the blog idea, that one is working... but the forum doesn't work that way i suppose.

So I guess I will just wipe out the 30k members and start fresh with new mmbers and see how I go from there...

I need to learn how to keep these people out. I know how to ban them I just don't know how to stop thm from entering the forum... So much to learn....

I just had an idea,
I would love to keep 30k members, of course, because it makes the place look busy, but I don't see why I need to delete the profiles. Why not just send them to articles that deal with stuff about making money online and forget about it...

This way I keep the huge amount of members and I send their links to no-where land, but it looks like my forum is booming.

I'm just saying since you reminded me I should just make profiles of my own, why not use these profiles since they never got in and never posted anything yet, they are probably long gone and never to return.

Umm... regardless of what everyone is saying, this will work. However, it is a time killer. I wouldn't have those articles or whatever linking back to that forum though. I would link them to one of my other sites. Just make sure you use proxies.

plus I'm totally lost as to where OP actually want to go with this - I understand the logistics of what they are describing, I just don't think the overall strategy is thought out very well

we (spammers) have success with this technique because it shows one way links pointing to their site from your site (and other quality websites just like it!)

Well, the members who are in the forum right now, the spammers, they have their own proxies, will it change that, if I type in a link on their profile? Will it now direct to my proxy, I always thought it would be on their own proxy.... all I was doing was directing them to a different link and really not interfering too much...See that tells you how much I know about forums. I just know how to write in them

Well,,, isn't this just a one way link I'm doing? I'm just changing the link they put on my website to a different link such as an article or something like that.

The link itself might not even lead back to the forum directly, well it probably will lead to a tweet or something like that. But still it's not what I would call a reciprocal link.

Yes I will keep you informed on the way the blog is going, but its so awesome that I can change the links and the writing on the blog to suit my own purposes rather than just deleting the spammers work. Sheesh I wish I would have thought of that earlier before I deleted 100s of spam posts, maybe I could have been to the top of google last month.
