My Movie streaming website journey

This system is pretty awesome but, strangely enough, i need massive traffic to actually use less bandwidth on my own servers.

How i will monetize my project:
To monetize this project i will be cutting movies with video ads. I think this is a fair and less anoying part of advertising instead of pop-ups and other bullshit all over the website. I still have to find the right amount of ads but i was thinking of 3 video ad breaks with a total lenght of 30 seconds each piece. As second method i want to use in-browser crypto mining. To make sure it won't be bothering any other tasks on your PC i will be using a CPU miner which will use 30/40% of the total CPU usage.

Tasks to do:
[ ] Build the design for the website
[ ] Cut the design into a working website
[ ] Finish the website with some test movies and make it fully functional
[ ] Create a bot to download all movie info and torrent files
[ ] Add all movies to the DB
[ ] Set up all seeding servers
[ ] Test and go live
[ ] Market the website and let the traffic roll in

After this project i might follow up with another project, a webtorrent movie database to use for other developers. This means that we all work together. You can use the movies as long as you set up seeding servers. If enough people join we can all bring back bandwidth to it's bare minimum! We are talking about reducing your bandwith to a few GB's a month! The more people join the less intensive seeding servers can be deployed. Meaning some people can join the project with 10 dollar vps'es while having access to 1000's of movies at 1080P quality or even 3D.

My final words:
I am very aware of all risks and work involved in this project. I know it's hard to become the best but I'm sure i can do it. I am also fully aware about all the rules involved. As far as DMCA going i am located in The Netherlands which will make things a little easier for me. I know this isn't a free pass but it's helping a little. As for hosting and domains i will make sure i am anonymous at any point. Therefore i will never go public with it online or even to people i know. Yes you can follow my journey and you know my intentions but for example you will never see the link posted here and i will even deny any question if a specific url belongs to me.

The reason for this journey:
I've got atleast 3 ideas daily and i need a progress bar for myself hence this journey. If not i am easy to slack off and start another project. And another one. And another one... I hope that with this journey i'll make sure to update it so i keep busy at this and to see my own progress. Get opinions and maybe ideas.

Bro im stuck with a app . I started to build a app . First i use vimeo and they take down my server . So im planing for a app like popcorntime . That you did webtorrent . Can i know some more details . If its possible to stream in apps . What do you think .. pm me bro . I really need ur advice

probably dead journey. op will probably said he is busy on something lol like 98% of thread when you ask them they do something else lol anyway no pop ads no banner no income lol you dont even have traffic yet why bother all of this. if you start something like this you focus on getting traffic.

I sure stated in my topic that this would be the project that i wouldn't give up on.

I had it all figured out and i was pretty darn sure this would make it.

Now, a long time over i sadly found out that the setup i wanted to create was not advanced enough to be able to run this project 100% smoothly.

I figured i should wait a while till the technique behind it would evolve. Since it was open source and actively build on i had high hopes.

While i was waiting for this specific technique to be build more stable i of course went on with other projects. At this time i am actually doing something legal and offline which, for a change, is a great thing. A real business one can say.

So as for this project it's over. Maybe in the future when my other business goes down the crapper i might pick it up again :). And i hope at that time the technique i was using is working better.
 
Dman should have kept working on it. This is why poeple fail in life, they give up after 1 slap in`da face.

Honestly this wasn't a give up specific.

After one large project earning xx.xxx a month was taken down because of copyright issues in my past i kind of made myself a reasonable safe guard for potential future project.

If this project would have been a legit one i would never give up. Yet i had to weigh in this object between risk VS reward VS time.

At the end of the math it was fairly clear; it would take a lot of time, a lot of investment and very high risk and not a hassle free reward.
All things considered it was best to give up on this project.

I agree some people might quit too soon when something doesn't work out but if your project is not only blackhat but also highly illegal you might be better off pulling the plug and focus your time on more legit ways.

And honestly when my big project got taken down and i went from xx.xxx to 0 overnight it really killed a piece of me inside. I never want to go through that again.
 
Hay Pwn, i have few questions that i would like to ask. With all the respect, but really need your help with something that is based on movies niche. SK:aboolist_1 or dm me?

So here we are, almost one year ago i quit this project/journey because of my system failing.

After a whole year i never forgot about this projects and i really just wanted it to work out. I've did some research and i have a little more knowledge and hope as in the past sooo...

I am reopening this journey!

A fresh look, some fresh code and a new start. Time to nail it.

Currently, i am working on the design, which this time will be modern and simple.
My goal is to get rid of the basic "watch movies online" copies and be once again, unique.

The same goal applies as my very first post stated. Quality on top.

We all run into obstacles from time to time- the goal is the overcome them, perhaps after looking at them again from a different angle and with a fresh approach. (and don't forget, there may be members and resources here on this forum that can help you succeed with this venture, so don't be afraid to ask for help if needed)

In-between update.
The design has been finished and i am currently turning it into code. I'm pretty happy with the initial look. In my opinion it looks modern and non-bullshitty.

I did see in my first post that one of the monetizing methods would be crytpo mining in the background. This is plain stupid and not sure why i thought it would be a good idea at that time.
So that's something i am not going to do.

Really pumpt to know that another member thinking out of the box and bringing the p2p sharing ethos in streaming.
I'm also working in the same concept and have a test website right now and i have adapted some ideas to help to achieve this, and i really think that some collective working will really boost this to the max limit, and since you are back in the game i will be very interested in starting a discussion whenever you have time and will put some thoughts out there.
