    Hi everyone,

I'm based out in Perth, Australia and I recently got laid off from work and the cost of living here is so high that while I wait to possibly find more work again I am going to try my hand at some offline tactics to get some clients in some of the services I am good at. These services are Web Design, SEO & Photography. I am actually a photographer by profession but web-design and SEO have been long term hobbies.

I plan to use the software Places Scout to find local clients only. Nothing outside of Perth. I will be targeting restaurants, bakeries, landscapers, plumbers, spas, salons, physio's, vets. Basically any kind of local business where I can sell all 3 services. I will be focusing initially on clients who do not even have a web presence, then I will focus on clients who have bad websites, are ranking terribly and could do with some photography for marketing material.

I will be typing letters to these clients and handing them in person. If I don't receive feedback I will follow up with another visit to enquire if they had any questions and ask for feedback as to why they chose not to accept my offer so that I may refine my tactics in order to successfully land clients in the future.

This alone if done right should be able to land me at my target of $4k a month.

However I also plan to do some online stuff as well.

I will be doing keyword research in to several niches, develop websites for them and get them ranking well and then flip these sites to local businesses in that market for profit.

This isn't your standard journey thread I guess as my results won't be a day to day thing like most on here, however, I plan to release a total blueprint of how I search for clients, how I approach them and how I land them in this offline tactic. Which I hope will help others out here.

    Thanks

I wish you best. Although you say you will not update us daily, It would be better to give some information often on what you are up to.

I'm excited to see where this goes! Best of luck!
I agree with TheExtractor - I think it would be good to treat this almost like a blog which you update regularly. Both for your own sake and mine :D
I'm glad to see that you're willing to release a blueprint of your prospecting methods - it's so nice to see people giving back.
Some additional material that I know I would be very happy to read would be your local SEO practices and web design practices. With an emphasis on SEO. For selfish reasons :D
Regardless - best of luck to you! It's great to see people achieving what they want!

    Thanks for the replies guys.

Today I spent using Places Scout to build lists of targets to pitch to. I then proceeded to write a pitch out that I could use as a template. Only to then start browsing some TEDx Talk videos and stumbled across an absolute gem which has made me scrap my template and start again using what I leearnt from this tedtalk video. Search Simon sinek on youtube.

Today I bought a printer to print my finalised write up for my first targeted client.

Tomorrow I will hand deliver it to the restaurant. I will also reveal my sales pitch here on the forum tomorrow for those interested.

Sorry for not updating in a while. I had a major hard drive failure on my rig, SSD is toast (Thanks Verbatim)!

I have also been doing quite a bit of freelance photography work at the moment which has led me astray from this project. I will hopefully be back on it soon though!
