My Method - Please share your thoughts and ideas.

I am posting this in the white hat seo, because I think it would look white hat. If it needs to be moved please do so.

I would really like the opinions of people who know more then I do about SEO.

Here are the facts...
-I have about 40 domains that are all indexed with Google and have some backlinks to them.
- I just purchased a reseller account for a little project I am working on so I can set up unlimited hosting accounts.
- I have a website, about 5 days old, that is ranking on the first page now, was second page till this morning. It is very well on site optimized. I got 3 .edu blogs pointing do--follow links with exact keyword for anchor text.

Now that you know the facts, here is the method.

I am going to set up each one of those 40 domains on their own hosting account and leave the sites pretty much the way they are. Then I am going to add an article to each one with a direct do---follow backlink pointed at the new site that I talked about. This should give me some great backlinks.

I have been reading a lot about 3 way link building. That is what this would kind of be, except not 3 way.

Then I am going to keep building links to those other sites and the link juice will be passed on to the new site, in theory anyways.

That is my method/strategy. I will let everyone know how it goes and try to keep this updated.

The only problem I see is that google is going to catch you and tank not one but all of your sites unless they are on dedicated/unique ips. Linking into your own properties like this is being followed closely these days and should they discover you are doing it, will sandbox not just the site getting the links but ALL of them in your network.

Beware that drastic risk of unrecoverable downfall.

All of the sites will have different IPs. They are only off on the last three numbers though. Is that ok? Example - last three or four numbers - .1234 - .1245 - .1265

Depends. I have had clients come to me after trying this stunt and were asking me to repair their mistakes and I've seen google take down entire hosting accounts. I wouldn't risk it. If you want to work it in smaller clusters, that could work for a while but all being link pushers for one specific site, you are asking for trouble.

I would recommend that you don't take the risk and work on building a personal site service network if the domains aren't damaged and can be used.

it is a old technique and it isn't useful anymore. just get your links from other places. it would be better.
 
A 5 day old website on page 1?? Wow!

Someone knows what they're doing.

I didn't think your method sounded like a bad idea. The only thing i'd change is hosting your 40 domains on different subnets?! (I think?!?) Basically, whatever it is you need to do to get your domains hosted from different parts of the country, and different parts of the world too. (ie. being off by only a few numbers at the end of the ip address is not good enough.)

That, and maybe randomize your link structure.
 
It is really easier than you think. Guru marketers do this all the time. The way they do it is because of a specific pattern of behavior they have developed, as most of them claim to hate seo but do it sharply without even realizing it.
 
If all of the other sites have private registration, were registered at different times, and all hosted on different ip addresses then this might work. But why bother, your going to be linking 40 PR 0 sites to your site. Wouldn't it just be easier to find 40+ high PR backlinks and not have to worry about backlinking 40 of your own sites.
 
I think HelloInsomnia may have a point. Wouldn't it be easier to submit to a few registers and not run the risk of your own-site-backlinking approach blowing up on you?
 
I have same concerns about having 40 domains from same IP (it does not matter if you have a reseller webhosting account - all domains are still on same server - most probably same IP)...
 
Are they all on the same C Class? If they are, dont even waste your time. Also, what makes these sites so "valuable"? From the the way you described them, doesnt seem like they are high PR or anything special. If they are pr0 you might as well get a bunch of web2.0 properties and use those for your backlinks. That will save you MONEY, TIME (if you automate or outsource) and will even leak linkjuice from the mother domain.
