I have been several messages regarding the NFT/Crypto marketing strategies/budget/elements etc so basically I thought let's put a little thread here are share what I have learned in past 2 years while working in the marketing of the projects like Placewar, Frontera, Cryptoids, GHART, GARI DAO...and so on.
The plan could be pretty straightforward for PFP NFT projects and meme coins but for NFT Gamefi projects you have to put some extra effort.
Creating The Ground -
Let's start with the project, so I am not going to give project ideas here and you have to figure that out by yourself but I would like to drop some points in here -
- If it's an NFT art project - try to attach an emotion or adjective to that for example "Karma Cats NFTs" so it's not just random cartoon kittens a spiritual trait is attached to them.
- For Gamefi or Crypto/Decentralized products make sure you have good devs, a clear roadmap, and a tokenomics that make some sense.
- Don't overpromise but try to add as many holder benefits as possible
Now let's go towards creating your social media channels
Mainly you need - Twitter, Telegram, and Discord, and if you want you can include Facebook and Instagram too
Setup Rose bot on your telegram and other essential bots like welcome, spam, giveaway bot, invite tracker, and level-up bots on your discord. You can hire someone or just google it.
Make or hire someone to create clean banners for them. Write a compact and to-the-point bio for them and it's ready.
For the website, I will just say that makes it clean and lite put as much information as possible, put your whitepaper, some team members, etc. There are literally hundreds of successful projects out there and you can copy their template.
Filling the Ground
So now you have to get ready for the initial push. At this stage, you should have some CMs in your channels to manage your communities and answer the questions. You can also help them by giving them all the relevant information about your project in a form of a template that they can use to answer the questions.
So the best way to kickstart a project is by an Airdrop/Giveaway contest. There are lots of Twitter and telegram airdrop channels that can help you with this.
If you are not short on budget you can also try RT campaigns from other influencer accounts on your main airdrop post to get you some extra push.
You can use gleam.io or telegram airdrop bot to create the steps to join this giveaway. You can ask them to follow all your channels, comment on something, engage with a post, reach a certain level in discord, etc. It could be a direct cash giveaway or token airdrop or free mint.
Run this first campaign for at least 10 - 15 days and the whole purpose of this is to get some initial numbers on your socials to make you look legit.
You can spend 2k - 5k depending on your budget for this initial push.
If done right you will end with a good number of followers on your socials and they will be real because they have followed the steps and remember one thing - THESE ARE NOT BUYERS.
Preparing for the battle
No matter whatever you are doing your first goal will be either - Minting the NFTs or Presale your token. If you are looking for investors for private sales, that's done through connections and not by marketing.
At this stage, you have to bring your marketing guy + social media designer + and community managers under one hood and draft a content plan with a clear agenda that will push - benefits for holders, hype up the updates, and introduce more contests and giveaways and AMAs, etc. Content creators will create the content around these topics – The marketing team will push it and community managers will remind about these to the people in your community.
If you have whitelist spots then this is the time to introduce them and the whitelist steps should be drafted in a way that will help in growing the community further.
So now you have to put a solid effort and monies into the main marketing. I am gonna suggest the things that you can do at this stage but ultimately you are the boss.
- Influencer marketing - POSTS/RT - Youtube Video review
- PR Campaigns
- Shilling Campaigns
- Collaboration Campaigns with other Projects/Influencers
- Listings on calenders
These all activities should be done till the last days of the final showdown. As I said if you are filling whitelist spots then this is the time to ask people to claim their spots and treat them like VIPs in your community.
Final Showdown
For the last 10 days, I will simply increase the budget for whatever campaign that is working and cut the rest. This is the time to bring the biggest hype factor that you have, it could be a big collaboration, endorsement from a celebrity, or some insane benefit for the holders.
PR campaigns, shilling, and Influencer POSTS/RT campaigns should be kept going for this part.
If you are allowed by your budget you can try banner ads or featured listings on NFT or crypto calendars for the last five days of launch.
Putting some contests like XX$ for the first 10 people to mint/buy or something like that can lure more people into the project.
You should also try doing some AMAs in the last 10 days where founders can finally come in front of the audience and answer their questions to create a much more personal relationship with your audience.
Activities should be pumped a day before launch, CMs should be super active in the discord/telegram. If you can't see much chatting you can hire chatters around the launch days and it will create a much positive impact on the buyers. Also, beware of fake impersonators and keep sending alerts to your community about them.
Things to remember and side missions
I can't say it is a definite plan because things can change acc to projects and budgets but ultimately so will do one of the things that are mentioned in this plan is only for your first launch and you will have to change a lot of things after that.
In my next post, I will discuss how to find the right influencers and create RT campaigns.
Thanks.

Things to remember and side missions
- Always work on the social media plan with your marketer and create it acc to your roadmap + engaging content from your niche and don't post random shit.
- Keep your holder benefits as clear as possible, create a long-term impression with your road map and treat your community as friendly as possible.
- Community managers can make or break your project keep them super active, talk to them and share your vision with them which they will pass to the community
- You can also create a Medium blog for your project, it's not super important but good for publishing weekly updates.
- RT campaigns and cheaper and more effective than asking for a post.Period.
- 15k - 20k is a decent starting marketing budget.
- Work with your shillers and update them with new targets to shill on
- Look out for similar and successful projects and try to copy them.
I can't say it is a definite plan because things can change acc to projects and budgets but ultimately so will do one of the things that are mentioned in this plan is only for your first launch and you will have to change a lot of things after that.
