I have created over 10 websites, from low budget to $7000 budget and have worked on my own and many different small teams and freelancers. The biggest mistake I ever made was to develop a $6000 website for an UNTESTED idea that turned out to be unsuccessful. I will never make that mistake again.
In these 5 years of experience, I have learnt that the lowest cost and most risk-free way of developing websites is to do it in steps. The planning is important and creating a wireframe helps you visually see the flow and construction before the designing how it looks. This step costs only time.
Next step would be to create a prototype website. It’s really the BEST and most FLEXIBLE if you learn how to set up a local environment using XAMPP to get your free wordpress.org site up and running on your computer without having to worry about domains and hosting costs (plenty of tutorials available on google).
I like using DIVI to create my prototype. The good thing about DIVI is that it is very flexible and customizable. You can create a website to however you imagine with this tool. You can also animate everything on your page. And you can find nulled DIVI on google as well as free giveaways here at bhw.
Biggest downside of divi is how unoptimized the website is when you build with drag and drop builders. But it’s good enough to launch. That’s why you launch the prototype first and see if things are working. If it works, all you have to do is go on upwork and find a 10-20 dollar per hour person to RECREATE the website from scratch and build a custom theme based on your design. They can usually match things pixel perfectly in 10-20 hours depending on the complexity of the site ($100-400).
Instead of paying $3000 upfront for a risky investment, think baby steps that make sense for budget control. You don’t want to throw away your hard earned money.
