My Link Wheel Method- Is it effective?

At this time, open wheels still work.

I have a 1.5 year old domain. On site SEO is on spot. 3k backlinks to the domain and a few pages, though mostly to the domain. I have probably 20k backlinks spread between 12 web 2.0 properties in my wheel. I did an article blast to about 50 different article sites, ect. All sites in my wheel are indexed.

Currently first page for a high competition keyword (216 mil results).

So, for now, open wheels still work. Whether pyramids or crazy linking structures are better than open wheels, I do not know. I just know my open wheel is still rockin.

Awesome job. Yes they do still work, but like a lot of people have said already... Make it your own, spin it twist throw it for a loop! Make it fun and YOUR touch. Then do not share it on here if it works... *GASP* Whyy????? Because then everybody and their 3rd grade brother will be doing it. Lol...
 
What services did you buy?

I find it hard to believe that all services on this site don't work as some have had some great reviews.

my natural link site, it rank in top 10 one of high competitve keyword and lots of other keywords.
the site with link building service rank no where with any keyword. It even doesn't index the backlinks.

after all, I don't want buying services in this forum anymore

Link "Wheels" in the traditional sense don't work anymore.. even if they did work, it's just not enough randomness, and 6 properties is way too few to be effective. Think about making a big, spread out, random chaotic mess, and that's what you want! Not discouraging linkwheels at all, in fact they are the best for learning the process.. but after making your wheel, expand upon that. Add linkwheels to your linkwheels, etc.

Man, this stuff is interesting. I've been doing a lot of reading on what I might call candy-coated websites geared toward newbies. All of this is really opening my eyes, it's crazy, lol.

Interesting to read your critiques of the link wheel method, because that was what I was trying to do. Best rethink and randomize, I suppose!
 
Too much work for my taste. I mean you write 10 articles and put them up on web 2.0 sites where you don't stand to gain much if the content ranks. Then you link those to your target site but the article pages aren't useful as inbound links yet. So then you have to throw tons of crappy links at them to artificially inflate the relevance.

It's a clever way to manipulate your rankings, but after you spend all that time on quality content, try to think about whether or not you could have used that time to get creative and get links from 10 pages that are already relevant and more than likely have more value.

The other major problem is it's only as strong as the links on the very outer edge, or the social media links. Even if they start off pretty strong, as they age they're going to be indexed farther and farther away from their front pages and they'll lose value.

So in my totally irrelevant opinion, you could actually do better doing white or maybe some gray hat in the time you put into this. If I could press a button and have it all done I would use it but the rewards are just not enough.

About pyramids. I have my own theory on why they're probably better but I'll save that for another thread.

This actually supports my theory. If I'm right there will never be a problem with an open wheel as long as there are ways to create links.
 
well guys, i do not know why link wheels are not working for you or you are saying it is a outdated method. But seriously, link wheels are working great for me till now. I never face any problem whether it is a closed link wheel or open link wheel. One thing in link wheel is a very important factor that what type of articles you are using. If you are using 100% unique articles [which i am using] then your success rate with link wheel will be good, but if you use 20-30% content change, then it will be not good.

Right now i am using different properties in link wheels, like only web 2.0 properties or only profile properties or only article properties or social bookmarking properties etc..

Practically There is no end of link building methods. Some are work and some are not work. But keep link building process.

In all link building url and keywords are main factor. Maximum time people use same keyword in each link building, which makes suspicious in view of big G.
 
Just curious, are any of your web 2.0 sites no follow?
 
I'm just curious about what you are ranking for without giving away the keyword.

Is there a way you could include a bit of information on the competition of the top results?

Could you give PR, links, and maybe domain age of each of the top 5 results for your keyword?

This would be helpful to understand the strength of the keyword to understand on what level a linkwheel of this nature is effective.
 
The best practice with creating link wheels, or link structures, is to be sure that the content that is on the page you are linking to is 100% unique from the page you are linking from. That doesn't mean you have to use 100% unique content from what is out there in the rest of the world wide web, or from a property several steps away (although, that would help, too), but if a site has even a hint of dupe content from what it is linking out to, it will most likely be devalued as insignificant. Remember, value to the user..
 
Links Wheel works, but before that, you should need hundreds of high pr backlinks or high pr domain redirect, if you are trusted by g, you can links whatever you want even in those spammy sites.
 
BMD is pretty solid, would suggest picking that up to help your campaign

IMO if you add some more web2.0 properties then that will be better.
currently you are using 7 {according to your image}. IMO better to increase it to around 15-20. :)
