Since I'm too lazy to market this, I figured I'll let you guys have a stab at it.

I'll make this short and sweet.

The latest "tech" news so far is Google's Chrome browser. So how does one monetize that? Well think about the keywords people are going to search for when it's released! And what's one of the fastest method of dominating a keyword? Yup... Having the keywords in your domain.

So what are people going to search for?

Hmm.... Off the top of my head:

    "google chrome review"
    "google chrome reviews"
    "google chrome browser review"
    "google chrome browser reviews"
    "chrome browser review"
    "chrome browser reviews"
    "chrome review"
    "chrome reviews"

And you know what? I just searched godaddy.com for GoogleChromeReview.com, and it's available. :) Gotta be careful about having Google's trademark in your domain name though. But I'm sure the most of you have already thought about better keywords.

Once you get the domain, it's the same old same old. SEO Content -> Index -> Backlinks -> Monetize. :)

    Cheers!

Just to play devil's Advocate here a bit, Google is going to let us have PR to compete with them?

I think I'd rather go the subdomain route, to paraphase Jim Croce "You don't piss into the wind, you don't pull the mask off the ol lone ranger and you don't mess around with Gim"

But don't let me stop anyone,

    pass the popcorn please :D

    Thanks Genjutsu.

Tilt, true in a way, but if you market the site as a fan site instead of an obvious spam site, I doubt they'll want to come after you. Let's take the GoogleChromeReview.com for example. If you write a really detailed and positive review, backed with professional graphics (credibility), and maybe say have a banner or two, there shouldn't be any problems.

Tried namecheap previously, same thing. Works fine for GoDaddy though.

Looks like "some" of the domains are gone. Good luck guys. :) Keep us updated.

Adsense, CPA ads, Survey -> CPA, Opt In -> Autoresponder -> CPA, Affiliate promo, etc. If you can get the traffic, find a proper monetization route wouldn't be a problem.

cokely, if you get traffic rolling in to just about any website you can monetize it in just about any way you want. Adsense, CPA, Yahoo Publisher, Popups, Popunders....and so forth.

No, I don't think they need to. I just think they will. One kinda thinks about these free products as the gateway that allows you to establish a dialogue with potential new prospects, and yes, even huge companies can't survive without new prospects.

1.5 cents worth. I'm also not entirely confident those of you who purchased domain names with big G in the title will maintain those sites for long irregardless of the quality, i.e. pleasantry of your reviews. I do hope you do though. Clearly if you can hold on to those sites, this could be worthwhile. Good luck.

Yup agreed. I guess it's more of luck. I've seen plenty of blatant "spam" sites that have been up with the "ebay" term in their domain. Some continue, some get pulled out.

I do suggest that one might consider flipping (selling the site) early in the game for a tidy profit. Even selling the domain alone should get you some decent dough.

I have never heard that anyone had problems with google in domain name. I don't think Google is interested in attacking those sites. There are thousands of sites with google, adsense, adwords... in domain names, and they are live for years.

Google is not evil as Microsoft is :)
