Hello there, long-time lurker, first time poster. I wanted to start a thread to document my journey to be able to make a decent side-income. I haven't figured out what $$$ goals I want to reach yet, but that will come!
I've got two websites that I've built (I'm a professional web developer). One of them is a web application in the medical field that benefits both doctors and patients (I will be calling this one the Medical App), and the other is an online clothing store (and this one just Clothing Store).
Medical App
Ways it will generate income:
Possible traffic sources:
Costs put into it so far:
Hours put into it so far: 40-50 hrs
Launch: < 1 week
Profit: $0
Clothing Store

Misc. Notes: We're using a white-label printing company that we were able to establish a $1000 line of credit with. So we will be buying up our stock using the line of credit, and then when we start getting orders, pay off the debt and keep the cash flow consistent.
Launch: < 1 week
Profit: $0
If you guys have any suggestions or questions, let me know. I'll try my best to update this as much as possible. Realistically I'll probably be able to post here every few days as I have a full-time job and can only work on these projects a couple days a week.

- For every sign-up, I will be making $40/month (recurring cost)
- I will allow members to advertise on premium ad-spots on the site

- I built a bot to scrape emails off of a popular website where many doctors post their contact information (currently have ~20k emails) so I plan on sending an email blast out using Amason SES
- Pay-per-click campaigns on Google
- Pay-per-click campaigns on social media sites (super-targeted)
- Create a campaign at an affiliate marketing site and have people push sign-ups for qualified doctors to my site
- ???
Costs put into it so far:
- $15/month for dedicated server (if you would like the name of the company I'm using to host, PM me. For $15/month you can host up to 6 dedicated servers)
- $13 for 3-domain names (I had a GoDaddy coupon for a $1 domain and a $2 domain + normal $10 domain)

- People will be buying clothing off my website (My cousin and I are doing all of the designs ourselves)

- Instagram, tumblr, facebook, twitter

- $25/month for Shopify store
- ~$6/shirt * 120 (12 shirts each of 10 designs) = $720 (Direct-to-garment, full-color, printing, shipped) using a line of credit
