My journey with software and PPC

This is going to be my journey to 100 Euro per week selling software via pay per click advertising.


I aim to show you it is possible to make a decent side income with internet marketing. All the information is here on the forum but it takes a lot of reading, dedication and trial and error to make it happen.


I am not new to affiliate marketing having been making money online for around 2 years and regularly browsing BHW for around 3. The money at the start was low and I still work a full time job. I first started making money with Fiverr, ebay, dropshipping, freelancing and SEO.


I have only just started using PPC as a promotional method and consider myself a newb when it comes to it. My biggest mistake in IM has been not utilizing PPC as a traffic source earlier on! I've found it to be quite an easy way to make quick money. If you already own a site selling something I thoroughly recommend doing a test run of traffic with Adwords.


Lets get started


Today I have picked out an offer to promote with my favorite software affiliate network.
I then bought a hosting package and a domain


I put up a simple full page HTML iframe with my affiliate link pointing to the features page of the product I am going to promote. When I pick the page I am going to be sending traffic to I choose the most informative page for a potential customer. No point in sending a customer to the shopping cart page if they arn't sure what they are going to be purchasing lol.


My next step is to set up an ad campaign on Adwords. My best tip is to set a low max CPC. I never set a CPC of more than 10 cents and i still get lots of clicks on keywords with a "first page bid estimate" of 3 - 4 Euro! This is a niche product and I will be aiming for over 100 targeted clicks per day.


The product can be purchased for 1 month, 3 months 6 months or 12 months with prices ranging from 40 to 120 euro and 50% commission.


There are great commission percentages in software!

and how do you track your ppc campaign? prosper202?

I currently use no tracking whatsoever! Crazy i know but i've been getting a 300% ROI with my adwords campaigns and got a little bit lazy lol. I'll get something sorted soon!

Anyway i've just set up my adwords campaign

- I am using the old "Legacy campaign settings"
- Search and display networks
- Targeting desktop and laptops only
- Targeting USA, UK, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and Austrailia
- 0.07 default bid & 0.05 display network bid
- Targeting a total of 247 keywords

My campaign is currently pending review and could take 2 - 3 days. I've found Bings adcenter to be much more leniant and quicker in approving ads. Most of my campaigns with ad center started reviving traffic within just a few hours. The only time i ever had an ad rejected was when i direct linked to a clickbank product lol

lol mate, you should get tracking tool soon,,,
not every your campaign will be profitable, I thought we all already know when it comes to paid traffic, tracking is the most important thing.
Anyway it is your choice then
Have you ever got your campaign disapproved with your direct linking iframed method on adwords?

I thought I know your affiliate offer if my guess was true, you will get conversion rate decreased over time. but i just guessing though

I've found adwords to be quite hit and miss with disapproving iframed pages - all landing pages actually i suppose lol

They are a bit more lenient if you are spending a lot of money with them. I tried running campaigns in the past with coupons I bought from ebay & ones they had sent me in the post but it was a nightmare as my ads where getting dissaproved for no apparent reason.

I am going to look into tracking. My conversion rates have been pretty shitty at around 1 in 160 but with an avg cost per click of 0.05 cents and average commisions of around 30 euro the profits have still been good!

​UPDATE

Ad campaign has still not been approved by adwords and I suspect it could be a few days yet as at is now the weekend.

Using the adcenter import campaign feature I was able to transfer my campaign in seconds! Loaded some cash into my adcenter account and traffic should start coming through within a couple of hours. I aim to making my 100 euro profit per week within the next 3 weeks.

It's a long time ago but how did you campaign turned out? Did adwords approve the page etc?
