My Journey With My Bots...

Whats your predicted ETA on these?
To be honest, I never had an ETA on these features. I just work on the software when the fancy strikes me. I've most, if all of the google code available, I just need to test it. I imagine that generic Image scrape would take less than a day. However, I want to utilize Tumblr apis for mass download. Video scraping will require a special backend for each video host: youtube, xvideos, xhamster, etc. Youtube might be the easy one. Email scraping might take the longest, as I'd have to research spidering techniques.

Why do you ask? Do you need a special utility?

So, today, I tried to go legit. I had a few domain names laying around, figured I'd start an authority site. I wanted to integrate my authority site with clickbank. Except when it time to write the first article, it never happened. To help the matter I wrote down about 5 or 6 article ideas. And it just never happened. I'm having writer's block. Beyond being discouraged about it, I decided that my time is better spent (more productive) on my software. It's almost like a compulsion, an addiction. I'm too tempted to earn money in a blackhat way. Has anyone else ever struggled with this? Please tell me I'm not alone.

This all seems very interesting, and to be honest, if you wrote a book (in detail) of everything you did I know I, and others would buy it. I love reading real life hacker stories and thrillers. You probably wouldn't make as much money, but I'd like to know more. This all seems very interesting.

Good luck on your "going legit". I just recently had my main money making site get a DMCA and my host shut me down.. so now I'm looking for new alternative methods to make money, and trying to go the more legit/"whitehat" route myself.

Tell me if I am wrong.

You used your own bot traffic with some proxies and you sent them to Plugrush/Exoclick ads?

That is genius hah, I might try that for fun. Do you think if that is possible with some public bots and public proxies?

And good luck going legit.

You would be surprised how little some places care. They're willing to look the other way as long as advertising money keeps rolling in and no one is complaining. Traffic arbitrage with junk traffic and bots is very much a working business model for some people.

There is no click data in your screenshots, so apparently you earned up to hundreds of dollars each day, but none of your traffic ever took a monetizable action, and now you are here to drum up business for a bot that #1 - you don't have. #2 - doesn't work as advertised if you do have it. #3 - is guaranteed to get people's accounts banned.

You have also said you registered here over a year ago, but lost your first account details. I get CLICK data on exoclick with even 1000 impressions, so there's no way hundreds of thousands or millions of impressions don't end up generating clicks.

This model isn't blackhat. It's fraud, and it's completely illegal. I'm super surprised anyone is weighing in favorably here as OP is a completely new account, making outrageous claims, and has all the tell-tale signs of a complete bullshitter.

Welcome back to BHW. Don't get too comfortable. I don't think you'll be here long.

I feel you OP.
Blackhat is easy money. But spmetimes cant sleep at night, waiting to get caught, I dont know if this could have legal repercursions beyond banned accounts... have you read something about it?

Well I'm glad you stopped doing it. I know people here get hung up on the "blackhat" mindset a bit too much and tend to look past the fact that often times they are hurting real people. I have done a lot of advertising on Exoclick and it could have easily been my pocket you were dipping into for example.

Thanks for the kind words. Maybe one day I will share a detailed story. I dunno if I'd sell it, probably just give it away for free.

Thanks. I used public proxies, and the daily HMA proxy list. I've also used a personal Tor network.

That's the impression I got on some days.

Whoa! Lay off with the accusations and name calling. I'm not here to drum up business for my robots. I'm just here to tell my story. If you'd bother reading my other posts, it says that I'm not selling.

You are correct, there are no click data. For the screenshots that I provided, there are no clicks on mobile redirects, smart guy.

Last point: I've provided screenshots of my payments. These robots do work. But, I'm not in the business of convincing you. So if you don't believe the story, then that's just too bad.

I've done some cursory research. I've not found anything that says that click fraud is explicitly illegal. However, I'm positive that it'd warrant the attention of the FBI if the damage were significant. Besides, I've seen too many legit situations where the payout is actually higher.

Anyway, I'm ready to go legit now. But, to be honest, I dunno if I'm interested in doing it slowly.

I think you were smart to walk away when you did. It's too easy to get caught up in that shady stuff when you know what you know... and IMO, it's not a very good lifestyle to lead.

I usually juggle my long-term projects with a few "short money" projects (riskier, but not click theft or anything fraudulent) here and there. The longer projects make me feel like I'm doing something with my life, and the shorter ones have that rush of building something quickly, testing it quickly, and potentially killing it without too much effort.

Thanks. You won't find me arguing with how wrong it is. It was my hope to share my story, an experience from the other side, if you will. As I've not seen anyone else share this kind of experience on the site. However, it certainly isn't my intention to glamorize robots. But, it looks like I might have stepped on some toes.

Thanks. And you're absolutely right. Who knows what type of future I'd have, if I kept that life style up.

There's a part of me that wants to build something, worthwhile, in a legitimate way. But, walking away, and staying away from blackhat methods are more difficult than I thought it would be.

You can still use bots to game social media for getting traffic. It might be against the TOS of the platform but it doesn't mean you are hurting anybody or stealing any advertisers money. There is a difference between blackhat and scamming/fraud. Bots are just bots.. you can use them for good or bad :)
