My journey to make a living

I want to start keeping a public log of my work to hopefully hold me accountable more to stay motivated with everything and inspire someone else.

My current situation, I have 3 businesses. One is physically based locally. I am currently doing local SEO trying to become #1 for it in town. I don?t have a website for this, just facebook, and G+.

The other is net based in a niche, I perform services nationally which will be the only company doing so for my niche. I also am trying to figure out how to automate this more and have a passive income from an ebook,adsense or something. My website has been up for a year, I still don?t have much traffic. I have some good backlinks and various blog posts around. I just finished making a commercial video that I am trying to find places to post. I just purchased a pr2 domain which is in the same niche I am about to 301 to my original site to help it out. My Alexa rank has gotten much better but I am still only on Google page 3 for most of my keywords.

My final business I just purchased a good niche domain website on impulse. This site I want to solely be a passive income source. I looked into someone on the forum selling niche websites I am possibly going to buy to help me out. I intend on buying an aged domain to help this out once I figure out what to do with it.

Not sure where to go from here. I am open to any advice or critique from you guys.

Ok, Ill stick yo my main website business. Its in a niche without much competition and in my mind I should be #1. I keep a blog on it and write once a week. All original content 500 words each or so. Two of my youtube videos for my site are #1 for a few of my keywords. I only make $1 a day from adsense and want to increase that as well as sell an ebook or something. Im in the process of writing one. I dont know what else to do to get my site out there to rank better and get more work.

Today I wrote an 800 word article with an embedded video. Submitted pdf and powerpoint article to scribd and slideshare. About to begin submitting spun version to Web 2.0 sites. I will be including 2 different links to my main site in each article submitted with the web 2.0.

Just created and posted 2 more videos with 400 word articles on multiple video sites. Starting to locate Web 2.0 sites to post it to. My Alexa rank has went down over 1-million in 2 weeks now. My competition ranking is slowly going up. Still havent moved on google search page yet.

I also made 1 sale, the client said they found me through google search, I do not know what keywords they used. Most companies similar to mine have a staff of 10 and large contracts with companies. They dont deal with individuals at all which is what I do. I believe if I can reach page 1-2 of google, I can make atleast 1 sale a day which would allow me to live comfortably.

My long term goal, is to have multiple sales a day or contracts. If I had more than 1 sale a day I could afford to outsource my work or hire someone and still make more than I ever have.

Ive been posting my article and video to 10 article sharing sites, and began posting to Web 2.0 sites today. I also bought a Pr2 domain in my niche, now I just need to figure out how to write the script to 301 it properly to get the ranking.

Ive been manually submitting my site and video to article submission sites, video sites, press release sites and a couple Web 2.0 sites so far. Ive tried some of the automating tools on the forum but none seem to work very well. Im trying to find something to help the Tier 3 stuff go faster since doing everything else manually takes so much time.
