I've been looking for ways to make money online for the past year and a half or so but haven't had too much luck. I ran an adult site for a couple months along with a related tumblr that has a little more than 3k followers. I was worried about copyright issues because all of my content was ripped so I shut down the site and decided to take a break from trying to make money online for a while.
Now I've decided to move on to ppd. At least for now anyways. Around the start of this month I started ripping videos from youtube, re-uploading them, and linking to a related niche blogspot landing page. As of today (2/25/13) I have 7 different niches set up with 11 videos promoting them. Here are the steps I take for each niche. Please let me know if there is any part of the process I could change to increase conversions, save time, etc.
1. Download a niche video or maybe a couple relating to the same niche
2. Re-upload it as my own
----- I change my IP for each account I create and only put 2 or 3 videos on each account
3. Create a fake / dummy file and name it something relating to the niche (like "xbox code gen.exe" or whatever the niche may be)
4. Password protect the dummy file in a zip archive, then put that archive in another unprotected zip archive containing a txt file called password.txt. In the txt file it has a link to my ppd file.
5. Upload this to dropbox (makes it possible for me to edit file without changing download link If I ever wanted to change PPD sites)
6. Make a blogspot landing page. Remove the blogspot Nav bar to make it look more legitimate, add meta tags with description, keywords, and author name, add a header image, and create a post with a relevant image, short description, and a link to the dropbox download.
7. Go to uploaded youtube video and make a convincing title, put in tags, and add a link to the niche blogspot landing page I created.
That's basically it. Apart from that I submit the blogspot urls to google and bing. Then I use pingler to ping them. I also use vagex to boost my videos. I read somewhere on the forums that it would help to embed my videos on twitter, buzzfeed, etc. Would doing so help the videos rank better?
I've had a few accounts / videos taken down for "spams, scams, and commercially deceptive content" as well as a copyright claim from a company I claimed to have a bot for. I assume this is just a part of the process.
For keywords I use google adwords to search something relevent to the niche. Then I use all the relevant search terms as keywords. Is this a bad idea? Should I use less keywords? Is it ok if my keywords are kind of long like "xbox live generator 2013"? Sometimes when I try to add all of these terms as tags to my youtube videos it tells me I have too many so I just pick a few and then in the description put "additional tags: tag1, tag2, tag3" Will that hinder my rankings?
Sorry for all the questions! I'm a complete noob to all of this.
Here are my February stats so far:
8 Downloads
$18.27 in earnings
Hopefully that will be a lot higher next month!
