My Journey to 1000/week

Hello BHW, I have been lurking these forums, especially IM journeys for a while now. I taught myself Java last summer and have been making android apps ever since, I started off only making 40/month making android apps, now I'm up to 200/week. I hope to get to 1000/week by the end of August. I mainly decided to make this blog to keep myself motivated, as I am sometime pretty lazy. I will try to update twice a week with earnings reports as well as if I make any new apps.

I'm also trying to move into website dev, but it's harder than I thought. I made a mns site, but it doesnt seem to be getting much traction, I used longtailpro and marketsamurai to find the niche, so I think it's a good one, but it hasn't made me any money yet

I hope to learn a lot from you guys

Do you sell these apps or make money from ads? How do you promote them?

I dev for android, and only something like 5% of people pay for apps, and my apps aren't suited for in app purchases, so it's all done through ads, mainly push notifications and interstitial. For promotion, it's mainly just making the best app in the category, and use aso.

Update 1:

So I've been playing around with a bunch of ad networks, even tried affiliate marketing, by puting webviews in dialogus, it didn't work out so well, 2k clicks, 4$, lol.

Anyway, this week I ended up at 196.72, a bit low, but that's to be expected because of the traffic I sent through my affiliate marketing experiment.

I'm in the process of moving traffic away from network 1 and toward networks 2 and 3, but unfortuney I lost some of my keystores so some of my apps will be stuck running network 1 forever

So this week I came to the realization instead of making one long time consuming app, I'll make smaller apps, so far Ive made 2 of the smaller apps, and will launch the third one today, the coding is relativley easy for the smaller apps, and its not much of a time commitment, I'm also starting to work on a larger app, but I will need to brush up on my http/json skills as well as my google api skills, the app will probably take a month if I spend 5 hours a week on it
