Hi everybody.

I am very excited to start this journey. I've just recently started to get in the online marketing world.
So after reading a lot on the forums here and other places, I have taken action.
I will be focusing on micro niche sites, and try to see if I can get the site to be number one on Google.

So without further ado, lets get started!

Day 1:
I signed up for a free trial of Market Samurai, watched some videos about how to find the nugget keywords. After a few hours I came across something that really looked interesting. After some more investigation I knew that I've found my keyword.
So I went to look for a domain, and lucky I was able to get the .net TLD of my keyword. Yeah!

A few facts about my keyword:

  • A physical product
  • Marketed for women
  • Has 2400 monthly exact global, and 1600 local (US) searches
  • No scary competition in top 10

My plan for the site, is not to make a big fancy blog with a sh*tload of content. But I will try to focus on having a fairly small amount of content, of high quality.
I want to keep the expenses down for this. But I am also not afraid of investing some money in it. So I will be buying my content, and some of the SEO work as well.

Day 2:

So today I've set up the site using WordPress and a suitable theme for adsense.
I did make a few tweaks to it, to have the colors, and font i wanted. I also installed proper pluings, analytics etc.
So it is good to go!


I used most of my time today on browsing Fiverr for some decent writers. And I think I found someone who can deliver my content. They have very good feedback, from alot of customers, so it can't be all bad.
Never the less, I placed an order for some articles with them. I have set up some criteria for the articles, so I hopefully don't have to do alot of editing once I get them back.
Now I can only wait for them to deliver the content. I hope it won't be to long, however I gladly wait for quality work.
 
Good luck! This is a brilliant idea for a thread actually, if you see some success, it will serve as added motivation for newbies like myself!
 
Hey awesome thread OP. I would suggest looking at some of the content writers in BST as well, some may better to use than fiverr. Regardless, keep up the thread, I'll be monitoring it.
 
Great job on starting. If you put your life into a website, you should have no problem ranking.

Day 3:

Today happened something i did not expect. I received some of the first articles from my writer, in under 24 hours. I was really surprised to get the first delivery already. The quality is good, so I am glad :)
I ran through the content, and changed the formatting so it looks a bit better.

After that I inserted the articles into WordPress, as a draft. I want to publish all of my initial content at the same time. I also found some nice pictures to match my keywords, and changed the name of them accordingly to my keyword. I don't know if this helps me in any way, but a visitor or two extra a month from a image search is fine for me :)

All in all not a lot happened today, so I will leave it for now. I hope to get the remaining content back tomorrow :cool:

Day 4:
Things are going fast! Today I received the rest of my ordered content. I think it is amazing that you can get such quality work for $5, and then so fast :)
So I've put in the last content, and formatted it to look pretty, along with some related pictures. I have to say, that the site looks pretty darn good.
I also added some adsense ads along with some Amazon affiliate links to products related to my niche, and submitted my site to the big G.
Now I just need to get some traffic to get things rolling :)

My plan now, is not to start backlinking like a crazy monkey. I would like to have a more natural flow in it. So my plan is, to submit my articles to different social bookmarking sites over the next few days. And once my site starts to index, I will order a SEO service from seoclerks. Accordingly to my research, seoclerks is where you get most for your money, compared to Fiverr.
I hope to have the most of my keywords indexed within a week.

So quite a lot of things happened today, and things are going in the right direction.

Can't wait to tomorrow :)

looks like its going good but don't just buy from seoclerks to get the most links possible, you have to be smart with your backlinking. Also I find in easy niches lots of good quality content is all you need to rank.
 
cool.dude123 - thanks for the insight. I won't regularly be posting new content. I have a few pages of high quality content.
Also I won't just be getting a bunch of backlinks, but see if I can get higher quality links. It might cost a bit more, but I'll consider these initial costs as investments.

Day 5:
Let the games begin! From the looks of it, Google has received my sitemap, and have indexed my site. From my daily SERP report, I have actually already been ranked on the fifth page for one of my longtail keywords. Nothing fancy so far, but this are going in the right direction.
I have been adding my site to different social bookmarking sites, and will continue to do so over the next few days. I hope that doing this will let all of my keywords to start ranking within the top 100.
So far it is not a thrilling journal, but hopefully that will come.

From my analytics page, I can see that I've already had some hits for some of the social bookmarking. So I must be doing something right.

I hope to wake up tomorrow and see a few more keywords ranked :D
