I’m excited to be here and share my journey so far. It’s been a rollercoaster ride with its fair share of highs and lows, but here’s a little glimpse into my story:
Back in high school, I ran a Facebook and Instagram page, along with a few Facebook groups. My main group grew to over 100k members, and my Facebook page had 70k+ followers. I used to create memes—not just any memes, but ones that sparked trends. For instance, I’d create a new template, make a meme with it, and then build momentum by sharing more memes on that template from other accounts. Eventually, people would catch on, and the template would blow up. One of my most famous templates was “Those who know, and those who don’t know” (you might’ve seen it!).
The crazy thing is, I never did it for money. I just loved the creative grind and the impact it had. But after high school, I decided to focus on becoming a software developer. Unfortunately, I had developed a scrolling addiction, which made focusing difficult, so I ended up deleting all my pages, groups, and social accounts to stay disciplined. Looking back, it feels like one of my biggest regrets—I could’ve done so much with that platform.
I started learning to code, completing CS50x from Harvard (an amazing course, by the way), but it wasn’t enough to make me job-ready. Financial struggles made it hard to afford paid courses or college, so I searched for free online resources. Sadly, during this time, I got sidetracked—watching too many movies, playing games, and losing touch with programming. I dabbled in freelance graphic design using the Photoshop skills I had from making memes, but I knew I was wasting my potential.
Eventually, I found a free course at one of the top universities in my city. I hoped to get into web development, but I ended up in a Digital Marketing and SEO course instead (thanks to those free certificate options). To my surprise, I excelled at it, topped the class, and earned a 96 on my certificate!
Now, I’m looking for a job where I can learn and grow. Right now, I don’t care what it is—I just need a job. I have skills in basic programming, graphic design, digital marketing, and SEO. I also believe I could be a great virtual assistant. I’m ready to put in the work and gain experience wherever I can.
