My Journey on instagram.

A big hello to all BHW members,

I read many journey threads on here about instagram, so I started one of my own. Before I say anything, I should admit that my experience with instagram is nil and I've never had any account on IG. Hence my progress might be a little slow. I'm hoping that I'll get a bit of assistance from the big shots on BHW as I progress.

As of now, and hopefully for the rest of my journey, I'm gonna keep everything manual. I'm hoping to increase my follower count steadily, by using the manual follow/unfollow method.

Now the thing is, I'm not quite sure as to who should I follow in order to increase my follower count. :( as of now, I'm following anyone who's liking my content and hoping they follow back. For now, the numbers are very disappointing, but it's just a start. Its been less than 24hrs since I created my account.

I've uploaded 7 pictures from my niche, and have around 10-20 likes on each of them. Except for one pic which has almost 1k likes, but that's I guess a result of someone sending free likes to me. I hope that doesn't create any kind of red flag for my account.

My follower count is 26 and I'm following 111 ppl. I'm gonna start following a bit more ppl when I am past 24 hrs.

I would appreciate any assistance that I could get when it comes to gaining followers manually.

Current statistics - Day 1

Pictures - 7
Followers - 26(+26)
Following - 111(+111)
Likes - 15+ (avg per pic) except 1 pic which has 989 likes (obviously someone did something here) ;)

Will update this thread regularly, and hope to receive feedback from you guys.

Done manually it can be a real ball ache to get to 5k its possible but normally what I do is grow the account to around 1k manually then get a bot to do the rest. Big question i have for you @TheNoobGuy how are you going to monetize the account? Affiliate, product placement, mobile downloads or ?

Keep at it though if you remember to post daily and comment on posts that are similar to your account, your account will grow. Oh and it's best to stick with the same theme swapping from i dunno anime to fitness would see the majority of your followers leave you, well the ones that you can sell to of course we are not counting the automated ones. So it's best to keep the same theme throughout.

I'm hoping to stay in the same niche, if I find another niche more attractive, I'll start with a new ig on that niche and try to maintain both the accounts simultaneously.

As far as monetizing is concerned, I might b able to provide Shoutouts or likes once I reach a good amount of followers, but that's a bit far fetched. Maybe run Affiliate links on my ig to make a few bucks, or maybe try CPA/CPI or something similar?

Maybe even build a website around my niche and then use my ig to send traffic to my site?

These are all far from reality as of now, by the time my ig grows, I might have a bit more understanding of monetization techniques via instagram :)
 
@TheNoobGuy Ah fair enough then. I find normally it works best to create a niche site once your account grows as it comes across more professional. But since your just getting used to the whole "instagram game" then I wish you the best of luck. Just remember to keep at it and youll be fine. Accounts do get blocked from time to time ive had week bans / perma bans before. There a pain in the ass.

Yup, getting blocked is the last thing I'd want rn, considering this is my first attempt. I'll be putting up a website soon enough. Just need to get to 5K+ to be a bit more confident.
I don't think content will be a problem, coz I'm already getting dm to post content provided by my followers. :D

I hope things work out. Fingers crossed. :)
 
Update:
It's been exactly 24hrs since I created my instagram account. I've been following and unfollowing in short bursts. Like, following 40-50 after every hour, just to b safe. Uploaded a total of 9 pictures, at a minimum interval of 1-2 hrs. I'm subscribing to more followers as soon as I'm uploading a picture. My latest post was around 10 mins back.

For now my statistics are as follows.

Posts: 9
Following: 434 (+434)
Followers: 96 (+96)
Likes per post: 25+ on average.
Comments: 7
Total likes: 230 (and another 1000 likes on a pic, which I'm sure wasn't organic.)

That's it for today, I am hoping Day 2 would be a bit more engaging. :)

Thanks mate, I have absolutely zero experience with instagram as well as IM. So if I can get anywhere with this, I'm sure anyone and everyone can get there. Hoping to learn a lot on my way up :)
 
Wow, I wish you the very best in your venture. That seems like a really hard task though, given the amount of work I do to even grow a dozen of my accounts in auto.
 
Instead of following those who liked your photos, why not follow those who liked the photos of big accounts in your niche instead? There's a possibility that they will either follow you back or just like your photos. I never followed those who liked the photos of my accounts.

Haha, yeah it is a lot of hard work, but it's guaranteed quality engagement, which will monetize much better whenever I have enough followers :)

You're absolutely right. I'm testing a lot of things when it comes to following. Trying to see which helps the most. The results since my last update have been a bit better. I'll b posting another update in about 5 hrs. Lets c where I'm at :D
