Hello there BHW,
First of all, before I start talking about myself and how I managed to make money on the Internet, I want to thank most of you people who post their methods or journeys, bringing everyone's morale up and of course, helping us out in making a passive income.
I've stumbled upon BHW back in oct last year, and I must say, I've been lurking daily around the forum ever since because I was captivated by all the different methods and journeys people have been posting.
About me, I've started trying my luck back in 2013 when I first tried freelancing. I was in all of this alone and didn't have any sources to back me up other than myself. At first, I didn't have any skills and of course, nobody was buying my services (I was "pretending" to be a graphic designer) for I had very basic skills in Photoshop. Time passed and I saw that this method was not working, so, I embraced the wonderful world of Youtube Tutorials and for the next half a month all I did in my free time was to learn to use Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects etc.
After about 8 months of activity and 0 orders I was ready to give up on everything and start lamenting that "hurr durr making money online is impossible hurr", but after 8-9 months of futile tries to get clients, my first $5 order appeared. That was my first online money EVER!
I've delivered the project and scaled up from there with slow an small steps, making $50 a month, after that $100 a month until I reached a point that I was making only $300-400 a month. For most of you people this will sound like crap in a bottle but for me it was above the medium income in my foxhole of a country.
Basically what I do is work on fiverr where I offer services like logo design, Logo animation (for intros or outros), whiteboard animations and so on.
I was ok with this for an year or so until I got sick of the stagnation. One thing is for sure and that is that in life you never have to stop and stay in a single place, no matter your age! Because stagnation will more than often imply and rutine implies degeneration of the mind.
So i decided to step up my game and go ahead and try to evolve my method. So I decided to create a promo video which I would later post to promote my work. Creating the video took me somewhere around 3-4 weeks and after the first month I had grown to $800 a month (dec 2016). After that I've grown to my first $1000 a month (Ian 2017) and in february made $1300. So on and so forth the most I managed to make was $1780 or something like that and never fell bellow $1100 the whole year ( without taking in account the first month of course).
Also, back in February when I seeing this increase. I decided to create another account and try to scale it up again but, after exactly an year now, the best I did was to get a total of 20 x$15 orders (IN A WHOLE YEAR), a thing which worries me very much... So, as I basically said earlier, because I don' want to stagnate on a single platform and risk degenerating, I'm planning to move somewhere in the following month or so to another niche and work on both this projects (freelancing and the new thing).
So, I will be making a journey quite soon right after I take my time with further documentation for what would work best for my skills.
I hope this post will brighten things up for all the people who tried their best and didn't quite succeed and I hope that this will moralize you and help you keep your heads up and go forward.
Also, of course, If you managed to read this post this far, and if you could come up with some suggestions for me, don't hesitate to let me know!
Thank you all!
