My Journey - First Stop Back to the Black

Hey Everyone,

This is my first journey and as you can also tell one of my first posts on BHW.

I have been a long time lurker (well over a year) only making an account recently.

Personal Background

I am currently employed on a full time basis working 0830-1730hrs Mon-Fri, I have spare time in the evenings and at weekends which is when I shall be working on my project / projects.

I made a lot of mistakes in my early adult life, mostly poor financial ones putting myself into deep financial trouble, after a year of getting back on track (mainly thanks to my girlfriends support) I am nearly back in the black, well will be in the early part of the new year.

But enough about my personal life..

What Have I Done So Far?

Over the last couple of months I have slowly been building social media profiles for a quite broad niche, so far the figures for these are below

Instagram - 1550 Followers
Facebook - 3500 Likes (Not sure how many of these are "real likes"
Pinterest - 1300 Followers
Tumblr - 500 Followers
Twitter - Only Just Set Up Today

I have also made a mailchimp account and started to collect email addresses (approx. 20-25 so far) from my followers.

This is something I have been building on and off and haven't focused too much on and hope to use this as a springboard once I get going.

My Plan

Short Term Goals:

• Get out of Debt
• Continue to build a social following and interacting with followers
• Continue to build my mailchimp list
• Research and plan possible avenues of monetizing what I already have

Long Term Goals:

• Create an authority website which I can monetize, using my social media profiles to help drive traffic to
• Look at alternative ways to make money online
• Become better acquainted with how internet marketing and website building works

I will be probably at first be looking down the route of monetizing my social media accounts and using them to drive traffic to an affiliate (eventually an authority) website that I will build related to my niche.

There it is; I will mainly be updating this with my progress and using this to think out loud and to dump my thoughts / future plans into.

I know it's a bit broad and doesn't go into specifics too much but being totally honest I'm not 100% sure my self how this will turn out but we shall see.

If anybody has any advice on what I should do with what I already have or how I should tackle it, then please fire away, I would love to hear what you think.

Quick Update

I am continuing to work on building the social media profiles, but it's a bit slow going - if anybody has any tips or can point me in the direction of a guide that would be great!

Made a decision late last night to bite the bullet and purchase a domain and hosting so I can start building a small Amazon affiliate website.

Mainly this will be used as a central point where I can direct all my social media traffic to, in the process getting more people to sign up to my mailing list. If it can pay for itself then this would be a success for me.

Again if anybody has a guide or something similar that they can point me towards to help set up this website, it would be much appreciated.
