I am stuck in the “Help us confirm you own this account” loop.
I have the OGE, and I can change the password through the email.
When that error pops up, an email I do not recognize appears, it is strange, looks like a temporary email.
I tried instagram.com/hacked. I tried clicking on “secure my account”. Nothing works.
I tried talking to Instagram support team, but they are trash, can’t even escalate the case to internal team.
How do I fix this? Please help me out

It looks like your account may be compromised if a strange email appears during verification. Try the “Need more help?” option from the login page and submit the hacked account form multiple times. Include proof like original email access or linked Facebook pages if asked. You can also try reaching out through Meta Business Support for faster help.

even with the OGE, I kept getting stuck in the verification loop. I think the hacker added a hidden email so the system prioritizes that. Submitting forms didn’t help. I reset my device, used a different IP, and tried again that’s when it finally worked. Instagram support was completely useless.

If you're stuck in the loop and see an unknown email, your account may be compromised. Try resetting via OGE on a different browser, then report the hack at instagram.com/hacked. If nothing works, escalate through Meta support or Twitter @InstagramComms.

That sounds really frustrating. Try logging in from a phone or place you've used before, then click " Need more help?" on the login page and follow the steps to send a selfie to Instagram identity check. It takes time, but it works for many people.

Try submitting a verification form with a government ID through Instagram’s official “Help Center” and use the “Report a hacked account” flow repeatedly. Also, check if you have linked any suspicious emails or phone numbers and try to remove them if possible. Persistence is key, as support is slow.

I'm having the same problem with one of my INS accs. Thanks so much for sharing!

Had this happen with one of my side accounts, Instagram support is useless unless you have access through a verified device. What worked for me was using the My account was hacked form through the mobile app, not desktop. I had to submit a selfie video for verification and got it back in 3 days. Worth trying if you haven’t already.

Contacting meta support team via another account may help. They will ask you to verify your ID and so forth.

Unfortunately and as far as I'm aware, there's really no other avenue of assistance here outside of Meta's support team. Sucks. You could contact them through a friend's account or one of your own ones on the same device or similarly tied accounts to get their attention. Contacting through a verified or active account helps push things along too. You'll need to submit some account info to them to prove ownership and it's gonna take some time and quite a bit of back and forth so keep that in mind. Hopefully you get through.

Despite using the OGE, I got stuck in a verification loop, likely due to a hidden email added by the hacker. Submitting forms didn't help. After resetting my device and changing my IP, it finally worked. Instagram support was unhelpful.
