I found Blackhatworld in 2008 when I was unemployed and looking for meaningful work. Eventually, I found full time work in 2009 and didn't have energy for IM. I would work, come home and watch TV. I did that for about 4 years and was fed up with how unproductive my life was. So I went back to graduate school for my Master's in Criminal Justice. Now that I am about to graduate I have no desire to work in the criminal justice field.

Motivated once again but racked with student loan debt, a mortgage, and a new wife I am starting a brand new IM journey. I have been working with computers since I was 15 but I am no expert at it. I can't code, program, or do any math better than the average 8th grader. I do have a little experience with HTML and have a basic understanding of sales and customer service.

Good luck with your journey mate :) If you have the dedication that it needs to earn money online then you're at the right place, no matter how old are you or if you know how to code or not. ;)
 
I guess you retrieved your old account, ensure you dust it and swing into action.

Don't assume it's a get rich quick scheme.

You have to actually learn the ropes and work on developing your skills.

At this point you have not decided what exactly you want to do.

You should start by identifying your area of strength, get all the information you can
and ask questions here about any challenge you might be encountering.

Don't forget the web is your greatest asset, missing or looking for any information
can be easily done by mere searching the search engines, relevant forums, youtube.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the support. I really do.

Here's what I did the past few days.

I setup Paypal account because I need to get paid.

I signed up for partnership account with Fanduel because I like fantasy sports.

I took all twenty eight of my old Blogspot domains (6+ year old) and transferred them to a new google account, only to find out that now I can't put Adsense on any of them because I have to own them for more than 6 months under the google account ownership rule. Fortunately, I don't have any posts on any of the blogs, however I was going to use them to rank high on Google.

Discouraged by the lost of adsense earnings on all 28 of my blogspot subdomains for the next 6 months I just watched 13 hours of foundations of programming and c objective videos on Lynda.

Then, I registered on Textbroker and wrote a writing sample for them. They are pretty quick to respond and should hear back from them in a couple of days regarding my rating.

Don't overlook the journeys section, but don't be afraid to try... you can learn a lot from others success/failures, but you'll never learn as much as trial and error.

Update: Wow, the folks at Textbroker work very fast! I registered, was evaluated, and approved all in the same day at that site. I failed the proofreading reading test (4 out of 10 correct! :P), but was given a 4 out of 5 star rating on my writing sample. This means I will be earning 2.4 cents for every word I write.

On Fiverr, where I have two translation gigs up, I got a request from nowhere to do a Google review for $5 for a cleaning business in New York. Hopefully, that will be my first internet marketing dollars earned in 2014.
 
Good work with TB, just remember to keep up the work at level 4 (they evaluate every submission, and can drop you down to 3 if your quality isn't kept up). While you're earning steady but low amounts from this kind of direction, read the 'curation of best posts' sticky in the making money forum in order to review the range of effective blueprints out there to bank in IM (the basic four areas are freelancing, site creation, wholesaling/arbtrage, and offline site design/promotion).
 
You need to set your own goal about earning. e.g: earn $100 in a month or $1,000 in a month through the IM activity.
 
Update:

I signed up for the eBay Partner Network hoping to get approved so I can send some classified ad customers their way.

I also registered for addmefast to promote one of my tweets that contain a referral link. Within a half hour I received about 11 retweets, about half of those that retweeted had 500 or more followers. The other had 0 or less than 5 followers. I read through some of their other retweets and it gave me some good ideas about products to promote.

I found the tweet "Android L improves battery life by 50%!" followed by an shortened abbreviated link to be a good way for me to monetize since some of these shortened abbreviated link sites pay you per click.
 
Update:

Just completed my first Fiverr gig for $5! Easiest $5 I ever made. Now only if I could repeat it 200x times a week I'd be good. :)
 
Update:

I was approved for the eBay Partner Network. Now it's time to promote eBay on some non eBay classifieds and social networks. I also am trying to develop a what I thought was a simple app idea. Turns out the app developers think the cost of the project is $600. I told them no and that I better learn how to program than to pay the $600 I don't have right now.
 
Make a use of those 28 blogspot domains. Aged Web2.0 are powerful.
Did you think about creating a niche site?
