2 days back, my home page went kaboom... completely out of serps for everything .. its not there even for my title, emd or homepage sentences..

My site is indexed and inner pages are ranking fine.

Its a new site.. month old. 100+ pages indexed. I am daily adding 2-3 new quality articles.

No warnings in webmaster tools... have made tons of websites from so many years.. never experienced this.. so m a lil freaked out.

The possible cause, I can see here is not varying anchor texts I guess. I also have a sitewide blogroll from pr3 site.. had ordered a bookmarking from fiverr ... and high pr blogposts from a provider on bhw..

Anybody who have experienced this thing can throw some light on the issue...

Really need expert help from someone who has gone through all this... have invested a lot on this and its really scary...

If you are suggesting me to keep building more links, also tell me which provider on bhw is the best for white hat seo

Thanks.
Chip

Apparently QUALITY backlinks are the way you get out of the sandbox. I think the ones that give you private blog network links are your best option because they seem like the highest quality backlinks you can get.

Just look up the new panda... LOL and then use No hands seo. Tons of people are having this issue with the new google updates.

@mootonandy

All these private blog networks looks very shady to me...

They just buy expired pr domains and start posting spun articles, that too all niches mixed...

Its not tough for Google to see that i have a bad neighborhood with all niches mixed!

Well what else can you do but build high quality links? Nothing IMO.

If other people are getting good results then no reason why you wont.

try the guest blogging related to your sites theme.

Already done that .. actually started with them.. got solid links from good authority sites...

I will do it more...

I think that is pretty normal these days for new sites. I have daily unique posts to my site and one day it just disappeared completely from G. I hadn't been doing any active back linking in the past two weeks. After a day or two it came back and my rank was a bit better than it was.

I'd give it a few days before you hit the panic button.

Content seems to be pretty important now a days. Make sure the content in your site is high quality.

One of my sites has 90 do-follow backlinks

first tier linkwheel

blogger -> Squidoo -> Wordpress -> xanga -> tumbler -> weebly

Then 4 articles pointing to it.

I am building the linkwheel manually but it seems to be the best way to do things. I am currently ranking second place for a keyword that gets 14k exact matches a month.

This has happened on one of my "test" domains for quite some time.

It bounces back, and then gets "lost", and then regains its rankings all the time.

This test domain I hit hard with lower quality links, with a ton of different anchors, all pointing to their corresponding pages. Links were from social bookmarking, Xrumer, and Scrapebox.

When you build links, how do you build them to your site? Do they all point to the homepage? Are you diversifying anchor text?

This occurred after buying some high pr blogposts. The provider only allowed 2 anchors, and both the anchors to home URL in the same article...

This caused the sandbox I guess...

Sometime back..I have also built manual webs pointing to home and inner pages with diff anchors ..

I had also done a bookmarking blast and directory submission sometime with diff anchors ...

So the only possible prob looks like, are the blogposts..

Could just be a Google dance.

My recommendation is to build some supporting links to ALL internal pages with 2-3 keyword variations per page.

That way you've got some link diversity, also be sure to have "natural" looking links as well. These are links without anchor text and ONLY URL or random like "click here", etc...

Try varying your anchor text, i am experiencing the same thing after panda but one thing i am sure about is that you have to build some high PR homepage links to get a stable ranking, this will prevent the F**king dance

The penalty is most likely related to overoptimization and keyword stuffing on your homepage. When your site is overly optimized it is far easier to have this happen.

I've got a site that has these exact type of penalties, where you cannot find "exact phrase" in Google, but you can find site:domain.com "exact phrase". You will also probably be able to find your homepage searching for domain.com, but for no other searches.

It is a combination of things ... backlinks mostly with same anchor text, high keyword density on the page, and the whole text of the homepage may have been hit with some kind of penalty. If you have the keywords in h-tags, take them out.

I usually do the same thing to you, when i do article links I go for one to a deep link and one to the homepage. Every time a new article, different deep link and one to homepage.

You may find some of your inner pages with the exact same penalty. It is easier to fix inner pages, a simple rewording usually fixes it within 24 hours. Homepage seems to be a lot more difficult.

I'm surprised I don't see people posting this error more often, it's all too easy for me to push my sites over the edge into this exact penalty.

And by the way, this has nothing to do with Panda. I've struggled with these penalties on various sites for years.

How to fix: tweak down keyword density, increase variety of links with variety of anchor texts, maintain steady link velocity, and for good measure completely reword your homepage.

BTW I've gotten 1 of 2 sites penalized like this fixed, still working on the other one. If you don't take care of it, the penalty will last years.

As a side note ... a site with the homepage penalized like this can be extremely profitable still. My penalized site is making good money. Google considers it an authority site, in fact I just made a post 1 week ago with minimal backlinking (one 150-stick AMR blast) and got top 10 on about 30k worth of exact match keywords.
