The people at SearchEngineLand did some testing with indexing dynamic content and everything was successful except changing that rel tag. Of course they did it in the opposite direction and have a (probably 100% wrong) opinion that it's because it happens after the page load. If this was true Angular apps wouldn't be crawled and apparently they are(awesome). I suspect they do this just so we can't fuck with it, but it's gotta be tested.

Thanks for the tip. Bit off topic, but can someone please tell me if the free version of bravesites gets indexed into Google. Got a blog there that's not indexed and its been quite a while now.
