I never realised how big a step it actually is to quit one's job and decide to work for yourself. I was fortunate enough to still be living with my parents when I started doing IM (Not a phrase often heard), so I had less bills to pay and a little more time to get my feet off the ground. It's a huge step, and I'm almost tempted to make a journey thread out of the little lady's progress, if that wasn't borderline invasion of privacy.

In any case, she started today, I helped her get a domain and hosting set up for herself, as well as a few other necessities, she contacted some previous employers and connections and it looks like it's going to be a busy but productive month for us all.

PS: Congrats on the upgrade Sherbert Hoover, the light blue suits you!

Congrats on your gf's success, now you just need to start charging a commission, and you got a good wife on your hands! :D

Congrats, tell her to sign up to BHW. Or did you get her to sign a NDA?

I was actually thinking of doing so. We have a bit more red tape to handle first, but once the dust settles, I'm very likely to suggest it. You'll be glad to know that I don't feature much in her business endeavours ;)

Best of luck both of you...

Not even on 10% managers fee ? :p

That's great. Congrats to your girlfriend for taking the leap. It takes a lot to walk away from stability and try to make something by yourself but I am sure everyone here will agree once you have taken those first steps you never look back.

Both working from home isn't a very nice idea. I mean it might seem good but it may cause relationship problems if you see each other every moment.

P.S If you live together of course...

You're right, we don't live together just yet though. That's for future Conor to think about.
