I attempted to turn on my Dell Latitude yesterday and nothing happened, no lights, no nothing. I do not know what the problem is. I know I carry it with me everywhere I go so maybe I bumped it on something, but I am not sure.

Does anyone know what the problem may be ? Or a hoe remedy to get it working again ?

I have all my data and e-books on there with no back up files. This making me completely pause everything that I was doing. I am using the PC at my day job right now, but I can not stay at work forever.

cud b ur RAM...it might have come out of the socket if u bumped it...u gotta open up to chk that...just remove the RAM n put it bck again...
OR, remove ur battery, connect with AC adapter directly and press the power button...keep is pressed for next 35 sec and release it...and press it again...
n if it still dsnt wrks, go to the service center, u screwed up ur mobo may be :P

Sounds like an issue with the battery. Perhaps it's dead?

Keep trying different things like taking the power source out and trying to turn it on and then without it.

Now that you say that, I remember the past couple of days I have been getting a message when I power up. It says something like "Something not firmly placed in port, please insert something firmly in post and resume power up". So maybe it is the RAM.

I always use the AC adapter, so I do not think it is the battery pack.

if the RAM is out of place, ur lappy won't even start...so u cant really get any error if RAM is out of place...
wht I think is that ^something^ is really out of place now n it could b RAM or could b ur hard drivez plug...the only way to know is to unscrew it...i wnt suggst u that if u've never done it b4...go to a service center...

Could be a number of things, loose battery, ram out of place, dead mobo. I'm not that good with laptops tbh, but this happened to me with my custom built desktop. It turned out to be a fried mobo and a bad power supply.

If you need to get the data off on a desktop system this may help, or one of those usb enclosures:

Best Buy fixes small things for like a $50 service charge plus parts....

Ay man...this is the most important thing...your hard drive is fine. It is a solid state device and it won't be affected by a situation such as power unless it was short circuited and odds are, this was not the case.

Id offer to fix it but u live 2 far away im sure.

i think its mobo.. its sometimes cheaper to get a new one.....

I had a problem just like this. I woke up one morning and tried to turn my laptop on, and nothing happened, just as you described. I eventually took the battery out, cleaned all of the connections the best I could, then put the battery back in. Didn't work... I took the battery back out, put it back in, and it turned on. I haven't had a problem since. So, I guess the battery just got loose at some point.
