Been writing articles for AC for awhile now, I started my first site about 2 months ago. Pretty much everything ive learned has come from this site so i figured id give back a little and show my results so far. Ill try to include as much proof and data as i can unlike alot of the 'success' posts here

Not trying to promote anything or boost my ego, just showing my experience so far to spark some discussion.

This is basically 'shezblogging' as outlined in a large post here. Autoblog that tweets new posts to twitter. I use WP robot to run the blog, posts amazon affiliate items, youtube videos, flickr images, and yahoo news articles. I tried straight RSS feeds to start but got blammed with DCMA notices within 24 hours. Now i just use content that is offered out to be copied. Not spun or unique, but not 'stolen' either...

I dont do any active backlinking or anything, just some SEO plugins on WP. Still experimenting with which ones I like best.

Started off with one blog on a .com, got good traffic right out of the gate. within a week had dozens of pages up on Google. Things died down a bit for awhile (was trying out some changes, twitter got suspended for a few days) but ive left things untouched on this site for the past month and traffic has been steadily growing. Getting around 75UV/day currently.

Heres a screenshot of traffic to my first test site.

Traffic sources have been pretty stable at ~30% organic and the rest from twitter/other.

After getting a feel for things, started duplicating with other niches. Now have about 20 sites on .infos up and running.

Monetizing with adsense, amazon, and clickbank.

Got one big sale on amazon right away for a profit of $12 :D but seems like it might have been a fluke since thats the only one since... about 1% clickthrough but no more buys.

Get a hop through clickbank a few times a week but no sales yet.

Adsense has been steadily growing, now average about one click per day for a CTR of around .5%. CPC has been anywhere from 0.01 to 1.50. Last month averaged out to about 0.20/ day. This month is up to about 0.40/day :):) Theres a pretty steady rise across the board with clicks, CPC, CTR, eCPM, and weekly earnings.

After passing $10, my account got put through a standard secondary verification process. You can see how the CPC really went to shit the last week when they started putting generic ads on my main site till the verification passed. Also, the new sites start with crapy ads for awhile till they are more established and get the keywords settled out it seems. Hopefully this will pass in the next month or so like it did with the first test blog.

Its been a few weeks and the new sites are just starting to get a few clicks too. Overall traffic has really taken off after adding the new sites. Heres my total clicks through bitly from twitter inclusive of all the blogs. Averages about a dozen hits a day currently, some over 50, some only a few.

For the future I might try some backlinking, but mostly let things run on autopilot. Have things mostly figured out the way i like them so setting up a new one takes less then a hour. Using a custom theme I edited myself, clean and professional but pretty basic. Now that I have some parallel sites, I will start testing out some minor tweaks in ad placement etc one things get settled in.

Running on shared hosting, so right now am just about breaking even to slight profit. Hopefully G wont drop any b& hammers in the future, but can also work with other sources as well.

Any questions/suggestions feel free to ask. Will keep this updated every few weeks.

/rep, thanks, blah blah

Hey mate great work! I had two questions: How many followers do you currently have in your twitter account, and any reason why you think your account got banned? Too many tweets, etc?

about 1200 followers currently in the first test account. of course it was growing over that period of time, had maybe a dozen followers when the blog went live.
average of 100 each on about 40 accounts now for the new expanded batch.

it got suspended because i started using tweetattacks and messed up the settings and got hit for agressive unfollowing. got the account back after talking with support. you can see right where it happened about may 20th where the traffic bottoms out.

now that i know what im doing i havent had any more flagged. go easy, start slow till you have some followers and time behind you. i had make the accounts and wait a week or so before doing anything with them.

a quick update with some more numbers...

the prototype/concept site has >3600 pages indexed on G
the secondary batch has 1700 pages indexed

i just finished setting up the secondary group and will pretty much have them on autopilot. 30 related subdomains under an umbrella topic. medium sized topic, not microniche at all. again following the 'shezblog' methodology. no real reason behind the choice, will start with some actual keyword researching next time...

39 twitter accounts
4 suspended
5724 followers (first account 1310, secondary ones 50-1000)

been using the semi-public proxies from here on BHW for these "throw away" accounts just to test how it goes. im guessing thats why those couple accounts got tagged. plan on getting some private proxies when i get some cash

switched to piwik analytics since google can only take 20 sites and theres always that paranoia about google products...
still learning the new software but will hopefully have some more screens once some data is saved up.

adsense is on track to break into the double digits this month :)

Yeah, great job! I built 70 autoblogs in the last two months or so and earnings and traffic has been very slow but steady. They are all individual domains, about 40 .com, .org, and .net and the remaining 30 or or so are .info. 1 site is consistently bringing in $2-6 per day. Now if I can only get the other 69 to average out like that. .. it'll be sweet.

@keadams

how are you monetizing?

im nervous about having basically 99% of the income coming from adsense on sites that are 100% scraped...

You can still make money with autoblogs, although I did take a hit after both the first and second Panda updates. I'll dig out eventually and I'm having to work a bit harder now at it, but I've learned a lot of valuable lessons because of the updates.

Originally, I worked in batches of 5 to 6 sites at a time setting them up. In hindsight, I think it is better to work on setting up just one or two at a time so you can prop them up and promote them so that the income starts sooner than later.

Some niches do well with adsense, some with Amazon and I'm still looking for a consistent CPA strategy. I've been hit or miss with CPA. My niches never have seemed to do well with Clickbank, although that may be partly due to a lack of available CB products.

I use private proxies for my TweetAttacks work and have only had trouble once with an account which was when I screwed up with the Tweet Manager and dumped a ton of tweets way to fast. I was able to get it back though. I do keep my follow/unfollow ratio at a very conservative rate of 190-199 a day. But I haven't lost an account to aggressive following since I bought the pro version.

Once you get a good base of followers you can make some extra cash with CPA, MyLikes or SponsoredTweets from your twitter accounts.

quick update:

30 sites
7,300 indexed pages
350 adsense impressions/day
6,800 followers

havent had any clicks the past few days...
not sure if its due to some changes i made or just fluctuations.
will leave it alone for a week or two and try changing back if things dont pick up again.

I have a question

What autoblog plugin do you use? I have tried some but none of them are good!

Great stuff...keep it going. Autoblogs are great, all you need is good backlinks and a decent spinner (sometimes unspin works well too)
