I have a blogspot blog, and I'm planning on posting 5 posts, totalling about 2000 words of unique content per day. How effective do you think this will be for earning money? Thanks. Sorry for being a newb

That depends on lots of things:
1. Can you keep adding 2000 words/day unique, search optimized content? - that will be a decent amount of writing
2. How competitive is your niche? -CPC and SEO
3. How do you intend to monetize it? -Adsense, CPA, other

You should probably do just fine, but don't go in expecting to become an instant millionaire.

sorry for the lack of info. no im not planning to seo optimize it, as i have tried to understand seo but haven't had much success. my niche is pretty open, especially the long tail keywords in it, and im planning on using adsense

from search engines- i have also been working on getting backlinks too. im hoping the large volume of content will make up for the lack of seo in it

The #1 thing google cares about is content, if you have a website that is constantly updated and everybody likes then you will find it very easy to rank for any term. That's what the latest algorithm updates have been for.

You can earn a lot or a little. If you have good unique SEO optimized content being posted daily, Google will like that.
Knowing your keywords is important.

I'm just looking for $5 a day- that's my goal. i figure if i keep posting content, i will eventually reach and exceed my goals. My perspective is that I'm adding 50 new, unique blog posts every 10 days, which in my opinion is a lot of content

how do u plan on getting traffic from search engines if u dont SEO... do u know what SEO means?

search engine optimization. it's basically methods to get more traffic from search engines. like doing kw research, adding those kw's in at about 3% density, using correct tags/ good titles, etc.

i just got my first click from adsense today- but only for $0.20
I still haven't gotten indexed by google, but I've been "seo jacking" with google alerts and I'm pretty sure I'll get indexed soon

Edit: Just checked and I have been indexed!

Congratz, now keep doing what you were doing and don't forget to build a few backlinks on the go to help getting ranked though keep in mind that constant updates and quality content are the key.

Quality content lol, Updated lol.

Throw up a few pages of 500 word content and backlink the shit outta it and get it ranked in the top 10. Not much sense in writing forever without backlinking and ranking the pages you have.

It's VERY easy to write content everyday and completely waste time on articles that will get maybe 2 hits a day.

You end up with 78 posts with maybe 3 backlinks each, then you decide to backlink and have no idea what pages to backlink etc.. Your not an authority, dont use authority strategies here.

It turns into a real mess.

Grab a keyword, optimize, write 500 word article. Do about 5 of those.

THEN spend ALL your time backlinking each article into the top 20, then the top 10, then go for the top 5.

Work with intention, your intention should be to rank number 1, not to write a zillion articles and just "get some" targeted traffic maybe by chance.

Ultimately the first goal is to abandon your blog and take it offline and get your own hosting. Or at a least keep a local copy of your current site, cause if its hosted elsewhere, theres a good chance you will login one day and it will be gone. Or leave it up and get some hosting and re-write it all.

Your question is impossible to answer. If you're not planning to SEO optimize it you are at a serious disadvantage. If you are "SEO jacking" to get backlinks, then you can only help yourself more by on page optimization. I don't know anything about blogspot, but wordpress has a million and one amazing SEO plug ins that practically do all the work for you though unless you pay for your own domain wordpress.com doesn't allow adsense ads.

It's totally worth the 8 bucks a month to get a domain. Make sure you target the right keywords i.e. search "market samurai"

thank you both for your advice, i plan on taking advantage of both things you mentioned. i guess what i was mainly trying to do was to take some initiative instead of reading the forums. Anyways, I appreciate your input

Coupled with some SEO this is a good way to start.

Find some authority links or submit a few articles to sites like ezinearticles and you should see your rankings increase.

Also might be worth looking into promoting your site on other forums related to your niche.
