My First Site - Help

Hey guys, I bought my first domain and I have been playing with softaculous to see what portal/cms I like best. The truth is every cms plug in looks so complicated. I like the demos but when I install them they dont look that way on my site. So im guessing I have to learn how to use the portal and create my own layout? I just want a simple website so I can drop all of my advertising in certain places/pages and start writing my articles. I feel... stuck.

Try wordpress,it`s praetty simple and easy to expand,best for starters....also got a great SEO.

Oh I guess it was a sample. I installed a full template. Thanks for your help though.

Glad to see your moving along, check out downloads in here, all sorts of templates and wordpress themes, some cool plug ins as well, the michelle macpherson post lets you get a good number of plug ins all good.

Joomla is not real hard to use and loads of free templates ...

Yup! Wordpress having good CMS platform and great SEO results.

WordPress is the best. You can set up a clean looking site in a day and it does a lot of things for you so you concentrate on promotion with all the lovely plugins for SEO and viral.

Also has a huge userbase, which means more people to help if you're having trouble.
