My first AutoBlog

Hello,

I have just setup my first autoblog, it is indexed in google(got indexed with in minuites of first post)

I am using shezblog method(very good guide) along with some other methods here and there. I built a twitter account(at least 200 followers so far) 1 week before I started the blog, this gives me at least 100 visits a day from twitter traffic + it is increasing everyday.. this is according to StatPress.

I have put adsense on their since I am getting some traffic, I was going to wait but I did not expect this much traffic so early on.

So, I need some help with my ads.. have not had clicks yet and I am wondering why? and how I can change this.

Any help would be appreciated.


PS: I am new to Autoblogging, I have tried to learn as much as I can from reading etc. I did not want to be like a lot of people by asking 100 questions and do no testing or trial & error my self. So I have put a leg out and registed this website and set it up.

I think I need help with ad placement.

First you need to make sure you're looking at unique visitors. A hit, a pageview, etc. are not the same.

How many pageviews per unique?

100 uniques per day is not much to work with but you should be getting some clicks. Are the ads targeted?

If you're truly getting 100 uniques and the ads look good, you probably need to tweak placement, size and blending the ad with the colors/theme of your blog.

I am using adsense and amazon associates at the moment.

I am not sure about the stats, I am only using StatPress and it has limited information. Is it safe to use Google Analytics on an auto-blog? I read somewhere about this so I am not to sure if its safe or not.

Would you like to look at my site and give me your thoughts?

Well I don't know about the quality of traffic from Twitter. It can be very good if you are a notable person or brand with a fan base, but it can also be very bad. I should know, I built a twitter alter-ego: a young internet marketing expert who lives in Manhattan. He looks good. The Manhattan background is spectacular. His Twitter content is populated using various RSS feeds and new visitors are gotten using some automatic methods which I'd rather not talk about here. This Twitter account has 2,345 followers as of this moment, and it just keeps growing. It has around 1000 direct messages, which are automatically answered with some niceties which may or may not be relevant, and it has been added to multiple lists by what appear to be "people". Since setting it up I have never touched it. I just wanted to see what would happen. The Twitter traffic, which is furious, is mostly spam.

I think a lot of the traffic your blog is getting is not really from a human, and maybe all of it. It is a shame spam robots don't click on Adsense ads or buy Amazon products. I think I could make them do this, but, well, I don't know if there is a place on this Earth I could hide to escape the consequences of doing that. Maybe North Korea.

Which software you are using for creating auto blog? is that software are free or paid?

Try changing the placement of the ads, put 3 units of adsense.

Here's what gets me the best results from ads -

1st unit - top right - Go for blue (default link color) - 300 X 250

2nd unit - below post title - Same color as of title - 336 X 280

3rd unit - bottom right - Text (Same color as of title) / Image Ads - 300 X 250.

first of all you need to know that statpress also counts spiders, so you don't get the 100 views that is getting showed there, what you should look at are the views shown in adsense, as only this counts!

I would also say that you need more followers in twitter as 200 hundres is not enough to get a decent amount of traffic from twitter.

I would recommend staying away from G analytics. There are plenty of other viable options out there.
