I just finished setting up my first experimental autoblog. It is ugly as hell, but feedback is greatly appreciated.

http://www.dailyviral.net

Questions:

1. What are the pro's when it comes to unique rewritten content? It is unreadable, and that is definatly a con.

2. Does the page URL really need to be niche oriented?

3. How long does it take before i can track visitors in cpanel? Using hostgator. Hosted yesterday.

1. Obviously unique content is for reading and attracing your reader. Helpful info anyone?

2. It would make it easier for traffic and seo.

3. Use some other type of analytics... Google or msn.

It's ok, get a better theme. Also use a unique content plugin.

I like the look - very unique!

Turn off the YARPP attribution, IMHO. It doesn't add anything to your site (there's an option in the plugin settings page for turning this off).

Agreed with strangefruit - use G analytics.

Very nice for a first timer! Now build some backlinks :-)

Don't use content rewriter!they are useless. The content is not readable it will just spoil your site.Keep your post as original and it will bring traffic regulary...Good luck!

It's damn ugly as hell, and what's that font ? once visitors come to it they will run a way, but you'll get the curious one stay a bit lol, sorry to say. mate get a good theme, there are tons of beautiful free wp themes, easy to install, don't place your adsense right a way, wait for a week or two, get it as much as you can of back links, and keep social bookmarking it .. .

Good luck .

First thanks for sharing. I am in the process of creating my 1st auto blog, and will share when ready. I do like the theme, but not for this site. A little to playful, with all the colors.

My initial approach has been to get some plr and original articles to post first without any adsense over a week or period. Then I will set the rest up on autoblog, but still mixing in original content.

I disagree with the OP's your site looks ok, it doesn't matter if it isn't very appealing, now the ad block you have on the left should get you some clicks, when I saw it,it had a movie related ad and for a second i thought it was part of the blog. Overall i think you did good, now get some link juice

Thanks for the feedback. I tried some different themes, but decided to stick with the ugly one, mainly because of the image ad placement to the left.

OT question: Anyone know a reliable and easy way to update oneself on what the current image ads from google are showing? Mainly interested in the U.S

Well Its a start. Experiment the site with different quality themes and use which works best.

The autoblog will work for you if it looks great with readable content.

Good luck

I agree, as I said earlier the blog should looks good, content as well, if you want it to have some success .. .

Well, i found a better theme and scrapped the autoblog. Turned it into a video blog instead.

I have definatly learned alot during my 3 first days as a webmaster.

New tips and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

No one is watching the Slapchop remix video:( Best vid i got there!

Don't worry about making it look great, worry about making 100 / day.

Thats the real trick with auto blogs.

sweet site, how do you plan on making money with it?

First i need to see how much traffic i can get to the site. I think i can get people to stay a while with my current theme. Even you busy BHW guys stay to watch my flicks^^

Problem is that my visitors ain't coming to buy or solve a problem, which will probally give me sub 1% CTR.
