My first Amazon Journey ever

after reading here and on other platforms for some time i recently thought that i should stop all that reading etc. for a second and just start my own amazon site. The worst thing that could happen is that i would burn some money, but that's okay if i have a chance to succeed and will learn a lot through my journey! You can't make money only by reading and the best way to learn things is by doing them!

I bought an emd domain and setup wordpress. As theme I use ultimate azon and im really satisfied with it.

I did have no experience at keyword research and as this is so important i decided to buy some keywords. Well, this was maybe not the best idea, im not quite sure if those keywords are really good.

As i'm not a native speaker and my english is really bad i hired a writer to write my content. My website is divided into 3 main categories, each one contains an introduction text with ~1000 words and a comparison table with all the products i have reviews about. For category 1 i got 3 reviews, for category 2 i got 1 review and for category 3 i got 0 reviews. I'm planning to have 4-5 reviews in each category. Right now my page contains 8k words.

I did not do any backlinking yet and my main keywords rank between 50-70. Is that a good sign? My domain has a DA of 1.

I already optimized my website's speed and it's now really fast. I also did setup a CDN using maxcdn.

Next step on my journey will be link building and im planning to build one web 2.0 each day and link from them after a few weeks.

I will document everything i do and i will always give updates about expenses and income.

Hosting ~ 15$
Ultimate Azon Theme ~ 45$
Serpbook ~ 6$
maxCDN ~ 9$
Shared SEMRush Account ~5$
content ~ 28$

Total Expenses: 108$

I'm thinking about getting a few expired tumblrs for sites with good PA and DA. Is that a good idea?

Ordered new 2k words from my content writer today. Think i need to work on my internal links the next week as every article contains 0-1 yet, so im wasting a lot of on page power.

Started to build some web 2.0 and get them indexed. I don't really know what works and what does not work, i'll see in the next weeks and i am really looking forward to it Rankings for main keywords seem to be consistent. Waiting for the 2k words i ordered and going to restructure my internal linking.

It is an wordpress theme build for the purpose to build an amazon niche site. You can create nice product slider and comparison tables. Just search for it on google and you will find their website where you can see how it can help you.

I finally updated all my sites with a better structure and added a decent internal linking. We will see if this will affect my rankings as soon as google recrawls my pages. To speed up that process i did submit each of those pages to the google webmaster tools.

Didn't receive my new content yet, but continued to index a steady amount of web2.0 backlinks each day. Hopefully i will see the first results in a few weeks.

Received my new content bud didnt add it to the page yet as im writing my final exams at the moment and do not have much time to spend on this Journey. Therefore i'm not updating this thread as regular as i would like to, but it will increase as soon as i finished school =)

Did add the new content and indexed them through google webmaster tools. I was inspecting a keyword in serpbook for a few weeks and sometimes got to rank on place 120-130 but then dropped out of rankings again. Now, a hour after i added an review that featured that keyword and linked to my main article, i got ranked for that keyword on place 53, interesting!

Additionally, my two main keywords (2k searches each) are now ranking #43 and #74. They ranked as soon as i wrote those main articles, but on places #61 and #82. The second keyword which was first on place #82 dropped back to #110 and stayed there for two weeks, but after a bit of backlinking i got it back to #74 now. I will update those positions here regulary and let's see where those serp changes end! Feels good to see positve results of the seo made.

Like how you just knew that you have to invest. Money makes money. You cannot get too far without investing a bit in IM ventures. They're just like any other ventures. You've got that fundamental down, so that's great. Waiting for the next update.

Small update here, still writing my exams, will finish the last one on Tuesday, going to build a few more links to it then.

I'm doing this since from last January. What I've noticed till now, that if the landing page content is less than 2.5K then there are almost no chances to get ranked on Google no matter what's the competitions are. Even I tried same thing using YouTube, that's also need larger contents on the description tab !!!

Nothing new to report here, didn't do any additional work. Keywords dance between #41-#45 and #51-#69.

Ordered more content and bought 1 more month of serpbook.
First keyword is now stable at #38, second one is dancing between between #49 - #61. Next update as soon as i will receive content.

New total expenses: 140$
