The thing is you broke the fear barrier with "mailing". There's a huge number of people who believe sending mails will get them sued and Fuhrer will come to their house.

None of that happens because we're not directly responsible for this, so if we hide behind "gmail", then "affilate networks + advertisers", we're fine. If we hide behind domains registered on our own names, probably we will still be fine as long as we don't overdo.

So 1k messages... I think one gmail account would be enough to send that number of messages.
So if you get 1000 gmail accounts, you can make $4000 assuming one account would allow to send 1k messages.

I would find 20 offers, and do one every 2 days from different mail to the same list.

$3 for 1000 seems too low. I would attempt to get $30 for 1000 in 40 days.

I don't know how it works though, but if one person from 1000 buys a product on commission of $30, that's it.

I would find more targeted list to what I'm doing.

How to build such a list on your own?
I'd go to local "ladies and gentelmen local announcements" and find those people there like this:
"Hi, hun, blah, blah, blah, I have big, blah blah blah, let's do a nice blah blah blah"

Make it sound real, write 10 versions of such a line. Give message through a DM.
 
The big issue with mailing is the infrastructure you have. To scale this, you have to send many more emails.

Make sure you have a way to CLEAN the lists before!

I think collection of massive amounts of emails is more important.
It's the 1st step. Cleaning can be optional if you cash out.

If you tell a starter to start with cleaning, that's telling them to focus on optimizations before they even make $50. Optimizations start at $1k a day in my opinion.
